I don't wish to be a killjoy but some car type engines don't shield the front crank seal for water/dirt ingress. I have seen a P76 and a Paj 2.8 both die through mud being forced into the oil wrecking the crank etc.
More when charging the hazard.

nah I cant take my tires up. takes far to long to change em and its only a side event plus might be sleeping in the car friday night.
tires are only 30" or actual 29" measured. hopefully shouldnt be ruts and if its to deep I wont put my truck through as I need it to get back to wellington.

U2 has postponed their Australian and New Zealand tour dates.
The Next Adventure and Michael Coppel have announced that the final 10 dates of U2's Vertigo tour have been delayed.
"This action is unavoidable due to the illness of an immediate family member of one of the band," it was announced in a statement today.
"Any fan of U2 will realise that this decision has not been taken lightly," said TNA President Arthur Fogel. "We will announce further details as soon as we have them."
The affected shows - which are all sold out are:
March 17 & 18: Auckland, Ericcson Stadium
March 21, Brisbane, Queensland Sports Centre
March 24 & 25, Melbourne, Telstra Dome
March 28, Adelaide, AAMI Stadium
March 31 & April 1, Sydney, Telstra Stadium
April 4, Yokohama, Nissan Stadium
April 8, Honolulu, Aloha Stadium

Not sure what engines you guys have got, but my patrol with the old 3.3T pulls in 3rd lo, in fact the gearing is so low that i have to start off in 2nd and 3rd most of the time. 1st gear is only for engine braking!

I dnt know what you cruiser and nissan guys do but my landrover can wheel spin in 3rd in high easy. In low range I start off in second or third.

Things are starting to go well for the 4x4 Mud Challenge with a good response to the request for advice from those intending to enter. There is still plenty of space for more entries and you just go to
http://www.4x4challenges.org.nz to get the details.
The two holes are dug and have had water added already. The holes are just over 20m long and will have a gluey mud to beat. The depth is only 500mm at this stage.
There will be good spectator viewing from a sloping embankment and for those who've not heard, we have 4WD TV from Australia over here to film the contest.

The entrance is off Wiri Station Rd and only accessable as a left turn.
Bring something to sit on. There will be a food caravan or bring a picnic (no alcohol on site is a condition of our resource consent).

Systems all go!......the event is tomorrow (Saturday) and starts at 10.30 am in Manukau City. We have two holes, one of which will be left "standard" all day for entries on the day.
The other hole will be "developed" for the bigger toys.
4WD TV are filming and the weather is forecast to be fine so bring a picnic and a hat and come and have some fun.
