Funny you say that, there will be a digger there that people can play with as one of the attractions ;)

Hi Huys

This is a bloody good event , Our club attended the CHCH BDO last year. We had a ball & gained some new members from it.

What nick needs is someone to pickup the ball that he has offered and run with it.A single person to lias with rather than having to deal with everyone. Conformation of numbers is all you need to give him so that he can arrange the appropiate amount of space & fencing. You chose thru concensous with those attending whats what then let him know.

Flyingbrick I vote you to head this up
Could be the oppitunity for you to shine ,Sounds like lots of support for this event, Just needs someone to collect the info & pass it on.

Just my 2c

Cheers
Darryl

gawd- I'm the last person that should be left in charge of something like this.

Could be my time to shine.

Could also be my time to fail miserably.

Curious however- how long would someone have with the space to create the course? It would not be hard to rally together a bunch of guys from ORE who are willing to create something fun.

Look at it this way bud nothing ventured nothing gained

At lest you have about 6 weeks to get something sorted, I had a month & everyone I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about. So I had to talk it up heaps & hope like hell it was going to be as good as I said it would be.

I failed :D It was better

Think mud hole mate, I may not make it thru but i'm going to give it all I have

haha, thanks everyone..

Alright.. so why cant we do it together? I'll agree to take the lead if two others will agree to stand beside me and offer assistance. Matt has already put his hand up (awesome).

I'll then create another thread- we can bounce ideas off one another and get ORE's input as to what should be there and how we can make it work.

Alright have written to the bloke in charge asking:

When do we have access to the site.

How large is the site?

What machinery and resourses do we have at our disposal?

What are we able to do to the land? EG can we dig holes, pile up dirt to make hills, etc etc etc.

What restrictions do we have on our activities?

Obviously all key people involved will have free access to Boys Day Out?

So we need to work out what we need.

- Guys to show off/recover/ partake in fun races over the 13th and 14th of march.

- as many old tires as possible AND a way of delivering them

- a digger driver?

-guys to advertise and find as many helpers as possible.

- Ideas for fun events for spectators and drivers eg- Barrel racing in a large muddy area.

- Unsure if this has been mentioned already- can we get fire crew there to pump out some water for the site?

- What safety precautions need to be taken so things remain legal?

- Are there any stores willing to lend assistance? could be good advertising and we could use a few small prizes to add a sense of competition to the driving out there.

- Unsure as to what facilities we have there- could use a marquee for shelter?

- would 4wdtv be willing/wanting to get footage of the event or support it in any way??

-We will likely need barriers (tires?) fencing and cones etc for the course and to keep spectators from getting too close. Children especially.

- Does this event have the support of ORE as a club- EG, can the ORE logo and name be used and promoted at the event?
Can ORE afford to donate a few stickers or *anything* to be used there either for advertising or as a freebe for participants vehicles?

-Who has an articulation ramp?

-Who would like to put their vehicle on display in the area if they arent wanting to drive?

Thats all for now.
