EFS are used by several of the winch challenge trucks.

Hi guys,

Have got some 50mm raised springs and shocks on the way...

Next mission is deciding on some tyres.

With the 50mm lift, will i be able to run 33" with no problems?

Also, how much extra power will the larger tyres use? ie would you recommend running 33" tyres on a non-turbo 4.2D, or will it end up being extremely sluggish going anywhere?

Any recommendations on a set of tyres, more off road orientated, but still ok for extended road use????

Thanks again....

You'll more than likely get guard rub on full travel with 33's, just make sure you take the factory mud flaps off and you'll be fine.

I run Goodyear MTR's as an all round tyre, and Mongrels for the harder stuff. This is on a standard TD42, and while I notice its a little sluggish on road, I haven't found it a problem off road yet. Would still like a turbo at some stage though, as I'm getting sick of getting hung up on the diffs, so I want 35's

Thanks Dave,

Think I'll go with the 33" tyres, and see how i go. Already removed the rear mud guards - the front ones will be next to go...

The goodyear mtrs sound like a good all round tyre... how do you find them on the road?

Cheers.

I have done around 2500km on them and found them good on road, hit a few corners too fast while going around the north island, and was suprised they held on.

They are wearing a little faster than the old BFG's but I do give em hell on road. Paid $245odd each delivered.
