According to the manufacturers info supplied with Lock Rites they advise if your only installing 1 locker it should go in the rear.

I have a welded up standard open diff in the front of my truck.
Find it great truck will always find way out of anything.
I just got electric locker in rear only downbuzz bout the welded front diff is when your out of the small shingle or mud and on a harder surface you ain't going anywhere except straight. Even with full lock it just crabs straight lol I just lock one hub sometimes if leaving in 4wd. If anyone can tell me does that matter? If I just lock one hub
