Dammit, I would have been keen for the friday night and the Saturday trip. But unfortunately a famlily member died and we had to get up to kaiaua. But at least i'm ready for next sat. This WILL be the last trip on rover axles. The rear cruiser axle will be coming down soon so I wont be fixing as many half shafts. But its nice to know someone would give me a tow.

What are you running in your Land Rover at the moment?
Building up a bit of a hybrid myself at the moment (see avatar)
Series 1 body on a Series 2 chassis. Cruiser axles front and rear, coiled on the front, may go for coils on the rear yet as well if I can find all the bits I need for a good price (cheap), 35" Centipedes, RR 3.5V8 engine and 4 speed box.
Motivation is lacking at times, been building this for more than a year now, and trying to do it on a real tight budget. All up it owes just over a grand so far so doing really well in that department.
Looking forward to getting it going asap though.

Sorry guys didnt make the sat trip cause of the fuel pump developing leak-ta-lightus. This new diesel has finally caught up with my seals.

Went around the south coast today with the training group though as it wasnt such a long run incase anything got worse with it.

Dam all these hybrids getting built. Seems toyota parts the preferred choice. I should have gone with this, would have been so much cheaper to fit lockers in them. Never mind, I've got series3 body, rangerover front axle, 3.5v8 and box and discovery chasis and rear axle. Mine also has been in the process for a year.

Roll on sat.

I'm running an EFI 202, hilux front axle and cruiser fully floater rear with a hilux head welded in (ground clearence). My buildups an el cheapo as well but I want to have it road legal. The front will be coiled and I'm undecided about the rear. If I stay with leaves then I can run in F class in the trials. The 202 may get replaced with a v8 in the future (3.9 rover or lexus) if I find one for the right price. Oh and does anyone have some cheap 35's?. Maybe after Mikes and your landy are finished, an entrance into a teams recovery event would be a good idea?

Wow that's a pretty off-roader. Not much Series 1 left in that either.
I am afraid mine is not going to look anything near as clean and professional as that one. Going more for the user friendly "who gives a sh*t" finish. Probably won't be road legal either as I can't be bothered with all the rules and regulations, certifying and all that crap.

Yea I like it. Some of the series purists might not like the fact that its an early series 1 but landrovers were made to be improved upon (why else would they make so many obvious mistakes?), But those creepys look really nice on a rover. Maybe I need some

If you want I can organise the BBQ meat etc, if I can get an idea on numbers that would be handy, rough guess here $2 for sausages, Steak $4?

I'm assuming you are going to clubnight and inviting everyone there as well...I hope you are going to stand up and explain the pics since it was your trip.

(just mention that your dad is helping you organise which , Get Marcel to send out another email.....any idea on the forecast?

If its easier can you bring your BBQ? the club one is a bit of a pain to drag around? otherwise I can bring it.

Ps bring the ramp this time

I gave the pics to Dave to show at clubnight...I can pull them if its going to be a problem...

So we don't really need a BBQ....just throw some coal and a bit of petrol in the back of your landrover and throw a match in? (disclaimer...this is a joke ie not real)

Ramp, BBQ, mud, 4x4's, does it get any better?
Isn't there a Club 4x4 on Saturday as well?

leave them. I would like to go on the trip up deadwood but the landrover needs new axles before any difficult trips. Saturday appears to be no good for me. An autocross is on which I am entering in

Where is Deadwood Ridge?
And would this trip (Colin's) be leaning towards the Shiny 4x4 or Hard Yakka part in Club 4x4?
