Just something to think about too is if you are going to run 2x shocks you will basicly end up running bumpstops..
I'll try to explain..
When you hit a big bump your shock will travel down quickly (which is what it is suppose to do) then rebound slowly(again what it's suppose to do) Here is the "barry crocker" when you are hitting bumps at speed.. you need to give your shock time to recover from impact so if you were to run 2 shocks you would essentially end up racheting down onto the bumpstops as the shock won't recover to there full extent and every bump you hit just makes the shock compress again.. until there is nothing to compress.. :o so infact IMO better off running a 3way shock and Hydro bumpstops for the" big hits " leaving the shock to do what it does but as it's just 1 shock it should recover quickly and being 3way should be able to handle it better..(end of rave  ) I hope it gives you something to think about as I was going to run 2x in the front and now are going hydro bumpstops when I can afford them.. 8)

In theory yes, but being someone who understands the theory and has run twin shocks in this type of vehicle (and driven it hard) the practice is different to the theory. I will always suggest having one shock that is properly sized and valved is a better option but the cost is quite high. Twin 80 series shocks in a GQ isn't a theory it is a tried and proven BUDGET modification that increases performance and shock life dramatically. Have a look at virtually every serious winch challenge truck running in the upper north island and they virtually all have twin 80 series cruiser shocks in them for a reason. (or they have spent more money)
I will admit that with twins they become hard at slow speed but the faster you go the better they handle.

The budget performance upgrade for a GQ is twin 80 series shocks because it works and is an easy mod. Then when you have the money you fit hydraulic bumpstops. I say shocks first as they reduce the need for the bumstops or increase the speed before you need them depending on how you look at it.

The next step above that is a big remote canister shock, coil over if you can afford the mods and then ultimately a bypass as well.
You can buy a 2.5" coilover for about the same price as 2 good shocks BUT it costs alot more to make it fit and then you also need different coils.

cut a rear guard 35mm and ramped 37" tyre just touched with 15mm left to bumpstop so going to extend bumpstop 25mm front end has 25mm to already extended bumpstop yet to cut guard so should work out as planned so far...........

Do you have a spot weld drill or have you just ground the angle down on a normal drillbit?
