your the one who'll be driving it (and from memory i think you do a fair few long trips etc) so buy the car/vechicle that suits you and is comfortable for you. You could give us all 30k each and we'd all buy a different truck as we all have different needs.

I personally like them, just like a nice comfortable car and should be good for towing the boat.

When i buy something I always pick a price range and try and buy the best thing from that price range. Otherwise you can always go "if i spend a little extra I get this much more" until you end up spending 10 x the amount you planned on. Same rule applies for cars, computers, houses etc etc always something better out there for just that little bit extra.

Good luck.

Was talking to that guy Simon who hosts 4X4 TV today. Told him I had the truck on for a dollar reserve. I thought he was going to hit me!

AA mech insurance is about $1700 for 3 years from memory, i bought it for the old subaru, well worth it, covers anything mechanical or electrical except wear items (brakes, shocks, bearings etc)...

My only comment is that it will be nice to drive but I believe all Landies are give trouble and tomorrow it will devalue quicker than most other trucks. Just look at prices.

I have lots of old Landies but don't I use them

I personally would stick with Toyota or Nissan for a daily runner

Cheers Richard

Wise words there Richard, and I totally agree but Pete as the saying goes it's your arse, put it on any seat that fits.
I would have a Rangie if I could put the first 160k on it-----but not the second.
Pete see you tomorrow----- hope OLD SMOKEY doesn't take the glamour off the 40  , she's looking pretty sharp :o ,

:P :P :P :P :P

FITZY.

Spend a bit more Pete, then a bit, then a bit more.........

It sucks eh? I started off looking for an 07 dble cab hilux for me and a 02ish ranger for one of project managers. Was thinking that $45k ish for the Lux and $15-17k isf for the ranger (or courier as they were back then)

Couldn't find what I was looking for at all (well I did, but the cash was not available 2 weeks ago), So now reserved to the idea that my one (the lux) is going to have to be new ($63K with all the wanker shit on it i want) and the Ford is looking like being an 08 or 09 4x2 ($26 - 28 k for one once it gets all it's wanker shit on).

So went from a spend bill of $60k to nearly $95k because I need (want) in a hurry and can't find what I want.

If you can, take your time and choose the glove that fits.

if possible, you could wait a couple of weeks til the "field days specials" which is just slang for flicking off last years models before they depreciate... might save yourself a bit of dough, its only 4 weeks away...
