Looks like we've decided Worsley, what time does everyone fancy? I don't wanna be back too late.

Steve can I head to yours and meet you there or at the shed maybe? Then I can cut straight over the gorge bridge and through Oxford.

just wondering, anyone got a transporter I could borrow for the day? It would certainly help with getting the lada there in one piece... not to mention the coon!! I think Nibby is in, he stores ol' rusty just down the road from worsleys, so he usually drives it down...

so, give us a time and place, and we be stylin!!!

I'm hitchin a ride with Steve in the mighty modded mysterious utility so I can't really say what time, any time Sunday would suit me but only really wanna be out half the day if that's cool. Want to get plenty of garage time in on the FJ40 this weekend.

You boys might want to check the weather out. Worselys is no place for shineys with road tyres with drivers who have't done much hill/rutt work. It is supposed to piss down on Sunday. But if its shinning sunshine, I'm in. Watch out for a well known 4wd author. He lives at the bottom of the track and watches all vehicles going up. He has bollocked some of my mates before that were trying to get up there. I reckon the nth side of the waimak would be better, right Steve.

It doesn't have to be Worsley Al, I'm not too bothered, I just wanted to go out. Don't think there are any shineys going so far though are there?

Not sure just thought I would point that out. I have been driving up there for about 3 years now and it's so much worse now. could get up in a standard terrano on At's now it's an amazng challenge wth all the mods and my diff 's now 250mm off the ground. We can just wait and see what the weather is like.

Well I had a shiney until last weeks Ashley trip  count me out, need some mods on the Pajero before I venture out again. Looks like I might be putting some 33" on very soon

Hopefully they will fit without a body lift, or the misses wont be happy I need to spend another $250.

I'm in for either Worsley (dry or damp) or Waimak (wet). Half day is good. Perhaps make a decision Sun morning.

So can we confirm that we will be meeting at 12 noon Sunday at either bottom of Worsley track (Dry) or Waimak boat ramp (Wet). Does someone who has been up Worsley recently and knows its current condition want to take responsibility for making the decision and posting it on here by say 9ish on Sunday?

That sounds fine to me, need to make sure enough people are happy with that to make it worthwhile. Worsley in the dry, waimak in the wet sounds good, what does everyone else think? I need 30-45 minutes notice to get into town, and I also need Steve to agree as he's bringing a passenger seat for me along with a few other important bits.
Is that cool with you Steve?

I can definatly tell you that when Me, Nibby and h20lova went up a couple weeks back in the "mildly moist" (no rain, just residual water in parts) that there was a fair bit of digging......
last time we went up in the rain, it was a fricken nightmare!! You'd need some serious gear if you wanna go up in the rain!!!

or a lada

And as for the offer of a tow, cheers, but it's not the tow, it's how it tows, which is diabolical! Fulltime 4wd is like trying to tow with your hubs locked in.... and any who've done it will tell you it aint fun....

Ok, I'm all good with the Waimak "wet" option... Al is right, Worsleys is no place for most 4WDs these days when its wet. 12 is a good start time for me... with a posting here before or by 9am with a decision (I'm way north of Chch so someone closer to town who can see the weather can make that call... Al? Can you be responsible for that one?)

As for my presigious passengerial option that will be installed in the copilot area for the weekend (oh god, I'm getting Leithfielditis ), If its Worsleys I can meet you either in Rangi, Kaipoi or somewhere else close around there or if its the Waimak I can just meet you at the ramp? Any other ideas? I'm easy...

One has to best the beaurocrats at their own game SupraLuxImage - they don't like it up emImage.

Hope to make my escape Sunday and see you there.

Isn't the North side pretty much confined to an exclusive play area, patrolled by ECAN? Have the Southside tracks been liberated this year?

Yep done to death.. You get caught in the wrong zone, instant fine

South Side has a few tricks and tracks unused for a while

We can still meet at the boat ramp to save any confusion. If the vote says take the south side then its only a short trip down the motorway.
