also I have to say we are seriously short of marshalls

I would rather not have myself and Reece marshalling if we can help it but at this stage its looking like we will have to :(

if you know of anybody whos free and willing to help then point them in our direction please

It can be a thankless task but without the help of marshalls this event will not run very well :(

With the list above I'm sure I can work something out, but a few extra ones would be a big help especially those with a vehicle to get around.

Sadam group 1
Skid group 2
Tartra
Reece
Lyn
Gavin Woolley group 3
Dogg group 4
Old Man Bob group 5
badnuz group 6
Cindy group 7

I can easily marshall and I had planned too anyway, but I have groups of stages and as you can see above I've only filled 7

been asked what the format is for Kiwi, so here goes.............

2012 Kiwi Teams Challenge
for teams of 3 competing over 2 days
run on the Sat/Sun of Queens Birthday Weekend

this year is similar to last where a team of 3 will head off with a marshall to do a group of 1-2 stages

there are 9 groups of stages for 8 teams to complete which means we have a spare group at all times. there are 14 stages in total plus 1 night stage which myself and Reece will control.
this year we are using a points based scoring system so there will no need to time the stages

Ideally the marshall will be given a group of stages to control for both days and will stay for the weekend and enjoy the social camaraderie that comes with this event

last groups of stages will probably be handed out at 3pm at the latest on both days depending on which stages are free and how long they are.

As a marshall this year you will need to lead your team to the stages you are running and take note of the points accrued in the stages and then escort them back to the Gazebo and inform myself of the points gained. At this point you will more than likely get a bit of a rest as we wait for the next team to come back.

The only downside of marshalling this event is that we require you to remain sober at all times whilst you are marshalling other than that you will possibly get to see some awesome trucks and wicked teamwork in action

If you can help then thats awesome and if you have a friend, then bring them along as it can get lonely sitting on your own waiting for the teams to complete the stages.

On the plus side, if we somehow end up with an over-abundance of marshalls then you will get to hang together

any question feel free to ask away

Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

dunno anything specific but there are motels along SH1 at Mana and motels in Porirua, either are as close by as you'll get. I've been taking my commy up there the past few weeks and so long as it isnt too wet and the road dosent get cut up too much more you should get up there with RWD, theres only a couple of spots on the road thats been getting cut up so far
