Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
coilys are definatley a lot nicer to drive on the road. still light and bouncy but nowhere near as much as a leafy. From what im told the suspension is weak, leafys are basic and strong, i think it is the panhards that are really prone to bending. Pretty much if you wanna lift a coily properly your better to buy a leafy and coil it from scratch.
Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
The puke Autospares seems to be the only place wrecking them. I recently got a hub, stub axle and bearing etc for $145, I thought that was quite good. Next best bet is Australia.
Yep that's the general consensus that leafy's are tougher, I haven't broken mine yet though, not the suspension anyway.

Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
would seem zooks have alot of trouble with rust...almost every zook I have come across has had a problem with it
Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
most things around sj413/samurai age are gunna have a bit of rust, especially considering the crap they get driven in and arent always the best looked after vehicles. Nothing a bit of panel steel and a mig cant fix. Just keep a close eye on early models as the bodies can be compeltly stuffed and unwarrantable (without a lot of panel steel attention depending on your fab skills)
Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
anymore people with modified zooks??? or atleast a picture

Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny

Re: Wanted: Suzuki samurai or jimny
Seeing as you don't seem to be able to find what your looking for it sounds to me that either , your budget is to low or your expectations are to high .
Just buy a reasonable Samurai and through money at it over time, to tidy it up and fit all the cool aftermarket bits ...
I haven't seen a Zuk in NZ that Dosent have rust , even if it is hidden under the piant it will be there.
your proborbly better off buying a stock one and learning how to drive it . As a modified one will most likey out drive you and you will stick it on its roof.

Here, just do it, buy UBZ's 413, its an awesome we truck, hes done a mint job on it, 100 horses for under a tonne. and if the price scares you, well it shouldnt, cos he has spent a lot more than that building it, not to mention the countless hours. His build thread is on here and you can look at it and see how much of a sweet job he has done on it.
