It was more of a last week to a long weekend achievement.

Went to CHCH last week caught up with KiwiPete. Thanks heaps for taking me out to show me the Eastern side of CHCH and the CBD it was much apprecieted and like I said if your ever up these ways just let me know. Also I think your Terrano is one very nice looking wagon.

There is heaps of modified 4wds in CHCH It was awesome seeing so many out and about its just a shame that there are people who are targeting them though. The bighorn would fit right in lol.

Sold my Lada  got $1300 for it. not bad considering I paid $100 for it lol. Drove it to Auckland with no issues and the guy drove it to Wellington then to CHCH the next day with no isses.

Finally fitted the other spare guards to the front of the Bighorn and fitted a rear flare to the front. Doesnt look the best but its better than having 3 flares and one with nothing.

cool coon juz, interesting yours has 5 stud wheels, I had an old ute coon like that about 25 years ago, I think it was a 1963 ish XL or XM, cost me $150 bucks and had 5 stud front and 4 stud rear hubs, the falcon gurus told me all the cars and wagons came out 4 stud and the utes and delivery vans came out 5 stud and my rear diff had probably been changed, I ended up grabbing some 4 stud hubs and wheels off an old sedan wreck coz I couldnt find any proper 5 stud wheels for the front to replace the rims that had been filed out to fit :x

it had a 200ci persuit engine and box out of a 1966 XR coon with a hydraulic clutch instead of the cable or whatever they used and it had electric windscreen wipers instead of the poxy vacuum ones that stopped midway up the screen whenever you put your foot on the gas

the doors didnt lock and any key started it and nobody ever pinched it

So I thought id start stripping down the back guard on the Falcoon. Been sitting in the garage all lonely for a few years now... Ended up being a case of find the metal!! ahh well, will cut it out and stitch in a new piece now I reckon. Thought I should get it on the road before any new dumb cert laws come in.

You may think why the f*ck just do that bit. But im keeping it this way. Repair the rear guard, touch it up in lacquer and then lacquer clearing the whole car to try preserve the old paint a bit.

Cheers! yeh they are all 4stud, just 5 stud on the utes. I put XA stubs n hubs in the front, VH44 booster and a narrowed XY single spinner in the rear. XA stubs cause bumpsteer real bad though. Thats why Im after HQ Calipers at the moment so I can put a Castlemaine Brake kit in the front which keeps the standard Drum stubs. All this just so I could fit the 14" rims and whitewalls I wanted! Thankfully its got electric wipers and a 200ci in it too, was 144ci Low Compression POWERHOUSE! originally. Came from up Wellington, Avery Motors. Owner kept a diary and wrote in it everyday he drove it. Every oil, belt, battery and tyre recorded from 64 to 89.

Awesome pics Al. I usually take the kayak up north and tie it behind the wagon and get pulled along the shallow water good times.
