Went for a play at my local river,had a lot of fun,mud inside and out of truck,only thing is think i may need some bigger tyres,got sick my truck doing its best corgi impression more than 6 occasions.
found some new tracks though they were fun
Had to cut the trip short though,older bros rear diff decided to discard some of its crownwheel teeth went back to my place and removed his diff,luckily i had an old 4.8 to lend him so he could get the truck home

Went to reefton for a pedal. Was adequately moist with a side order of damp.

Oober fun had and drove onto the trailer at the end of trip for teh win!

Well I got muddy, got stuck, did some skids and generally enjoyed the #### out of my dads farm at kaiwaka.

Oh and the Suzuki is now for sale too.

I agree with you datsunsafari that guy was a meat head and this day was full of new and shiney trucks with phuck all recovery points or rated to phuck all also no idea of what they were doing, and like you I ain't going in to hitch up there rope, my thoughts are if you drive in and get stuck get out and hook it up yourself, would only do for a best mate.
Also not the nicest of day's at Woodhill well at least it was not pissing down and freezing.

All in all it was a good day.

No 4wding, but went shooting on a mates new block and had the police come have a look see to make sure it wasn't the crazy neighbor poppin of. Armed response with 6 cop cars was pretty interesting. Got it all sorted and they were fine. Good ol country cops.

Tailing Saturday on inlaws farm, Went down the Catlins and camped Sat night,Got a wet arse. dragged some people out of a nice big Mudhole.
Tailing again Sunday, father inlaw got the 4wheeler stuck down a gully, tryed towing it out with another one but didnt work. Shit its muddy down here at the moment! anyway dragged it out with my truck. Got mud everywhere! then on the way home tonight blew the second 40a Fuel relay in as many weeks. Sparky said fuel pumps drawing too much current so will get looked at this week....

Moved into my new place over the extra long weekend. 1st house and its mint. Getting my handy-man hat on and already fixing things around the place. Got the garage door working among other things! Lots of room to work on the Jeep and looking forward to working on it more now that i have room.

Going to try get my rocker guards on this weekend! Also give the Jeep a service. Going to catch the loser cruiser to work now so the Jeep will be a weekend warrior!

Saw FORGE1 yesterday in his new GQ beast

Went for a trundle up the beach on Monday... Developed a brake leak and had to drive home with no brakes.
There's something about that place. I'm two-for-two on breakages up there. Last time the radiator fan dined on the radiator...
Hopefully third time's a charm.

Cruisy day Saturday. Frankinsteined a MK/MQ Patrol Airflow snorkel onto a D21 Terrano on Sunday. Got the front diff finished and painted for the 60 also got all the grease, dust and general shit off the knuckles etc on Monday, all ready to assemble. Booyah

Drove until I couldn't drive any more, still climbing but kept getting stuck so called it a day

Well my weekend actually started last weekend haha. Been on A/L. Went to New Plymouth to visit the grandparents and do some last minute training. Also caught up with Scruf123 as he has just moved down from kerikeri. Got a new window reg for the back door while down there. Before we left I hooked up snorkel, and fitted the wheels.

Over the long weekend I shot over to rotorua stayed at the Millenium hotel for 3 nights. Was rather fancy..
Took part in the Whaka100 MTB race. Only got 63kms in before the bike gave up so not 100% happy.
Next day did the family thing and
Shot back Monday saw Phraza on the way then finally got back to whangarei that's night.

In a nut shell I'm stuffed!!! Haha

Had a blast at Rallywoods on the Play Day , but now have to fix the truck as i dented my fuel tank pretty bad, and have got no more inner hub bearing on the drivers side so time to fix for the next one

Wifes car decided it didnt need a cambelt anymore (near bang on the recommended 60thou change too), #2 exhaust valve got introduced to #2 piston, needless to say they didnt get on too well with each other and the engine is now lunched!

Where abouts is that? Few mates and myself went up mt buster over to the hawkdun range but had to turn back cos there was to much snow and were all getting stuck and getting late in the day.

Not to sound like a whiney little ####, but the park is promoted as a place that Joe Bloggs can take his everyday shiny road-going fully stock 4wd.

So that's sort of something you have to deal with if you're going to be part of the safety patrol crew.

I'm not saying that their attitudes with not wanting to hitch the vehicles up themselves are justified though; I'm all for seeing the average townie fall in the mud

cleaned up some old shit and went for a run up to the scrappie, almost paid for a full tank of gas

there are tracks that are suited for stock standard trucks, coopers canyon,19, 20, 21,mud area by carpark ARE NOT.on saturday there was a new landrover evoque(spelling?)sunday there was a near new range rover,no problems with these guys because they stuck to the tracks suited to there trucks.the fool i recovered at the end of the day should NOT have been were he was,it was closing time should have been driving out the gate not driving into bog he would never make it through,with no recovery points to drag his pos out.and lets not forget we are not paid to be on safety patrol any damage to my truck/recovery gear comes out of my pocket as does the fuel to drive around doing recoverys.must have been a full moon a something plenty of dumb shit going on that weekend,three trailers packed with quads turned up thinking that they can ride these in the 4WD PARK ahhh NO dont think so!had to recover a surf with braindead driver,when ready to snatch him backwards he asked if i wanted him to be in the truck?wtf did he think his truck was going to drive itself?this is only a couple of examples.maybe it was a retard convention?

Thats all part of the package of taking on patrol duties dealing with clowns mate suck it up or give it up and remember most of us and probably you included had to start somewhere doing dumb shit to learn from.... obviously the patrol safety net worked like its supposed to and everyone got home before the gate closed

yeah sadam,we didnt make it out by closing time,the guy at end of the day drove into bog on closing time 5oclock we didnt leave untill around 6 and didnt even get a "thanks"at all.as for not getting paid for being on safety patrol i dont expect to be, just trying to make a point that we are there to help,but we do not "have to"and a simple thanks goes a long way,insted of an arogant attatude like i must do as they want.

If you have to be so negative about one person then I suggest you don't assist on the patrols in future. The whinging make you sound almost as bad as the person who didn't say thanks to you.

The patrols are an opportunity to teach and guide people, especially those who are out there for the first time, the correct procedures and ways of doing things. That's also what being part of a club is all about.

At the end of the day don't let that one person and incident cloud your judgement of people.

Most of us that do the patrols treat it as a free fun day out, happy to help & guide people BUT their are some people who are plain stupid or worse that do dumb shit & just expect the patrols to get them out.
I could give a few examples but I don't think it would be a good look for the park.
The odd thank you wouldn't go amiss either.
