Cheers, trying to get most things done while ive got some time off work and before winter really kicks in, chopping at the bit to get out in the bush

The only thing i noticed with the radius arm bushes is they dont come with new washers that go between the bush and the body, any idea where i could get new ones of these, and do they need to be welded to the body or anything?

Wax has a good solution. I have heard of some people getting some turned out of rod (same shape, just solid) and weld them to the chassis.

Is it worth getting a calmini steering idler brace while im in the mood for working on the truck Ive been searching the 4wdbits website for ideas

Put a steering box on there instead of the idler its a lot better and stronger

x2 I got sick of replacing bushes

Will look into the steering box mod, sounds like a good option.

Have run into a small issue with replacing the radius arm bushes. The washer that goes between the bush and the body that is welded to the body is buggerd. Where do i find a replacement and can i just arc weld it back on or best to use a mig? The standard ones look like they are just tacked on there, or can i get away without running one at all??

Seems to be going sweet, need to sought the torsion bars though as its a bit high at the front and has no travel, im asuming i need to wind it down a bit so it is slightly lower at the front, when i get a wheel alignment done i might see if they can adjust them while they have it to get it sweet. Other than that im stocked

Yes, you'll find it'll go much better offroad with suspension not topped out, and cause less damage to cv's/tierods as well
And if you have front lower than rear they use less fuel because they're always pointing downhill

Yeah ive buggerd up the adjustment of the torsion bars its sitting on the top bump stops so will need to get that sorted, makes for a bumpy ride other wise

Looking at buying some 15x7 white spokes to fit my 32x11.5s so they are a lower offset so the wheels dont stick out as far, which hopefully means less strain on the cvs ect.
Do you think they will fit up alright?

Standard Terrano wheels are good for that, they have a good positive offset which would help, but how close is it to rubbing now?

Ive got some sitting here, that id be willing to swap/sell if you want them.

Will have to have a look inside the wheels, im pritty sure there is a lot of room between the inside of the tyre and the suspension. Only place it rubs is on the back of the front gaurd when turning while reversing or flexing slightly, the gaurd is slowly geting bent out of the way

What type of rims do you have Dirtydog? The rims on my truck are a very nice 3 peice wheel id love to keep them but i just dont think they are doing the truck any favours

Factory 15x7 Lego alloys are super light, but won't fit 11.5 wide unfortunately... you'll get frame rub all around.

Your theory about putting less sideways strain on wheel bearings, hubs etc is sound, but you may find that this is offset by the fact that your tyres are heavy and wide anyway.

The wider the tyre, the more leverage and weight, the quicker the wear on balljoints, control arm bushes, tie rods, everything really. Its the height you want = more clearance.

Check out Sibainmuds setup, tall and skinny super aggressive tyres on light rims. I think he's only done one inner CV in 4 years or so.

Hmmm bugger so the 11.5s wont go with a 7" wide rim, is that because they will baloon out to much?

These ones are the steel ones, not alloy.

got 31s on mine and doesn't rub with no lift

Could i run 15x7s with 33x11.5s with a body lift, would this be ok or am i just going to run into issues, because the only decent 33 i can find in a 10.5 are the BFGs, seems most other makes the smallest 33 they make are 11.5s?

you could always go to a 16" rim and get 235/85-16 tyres
about 32" tall and is a nice skinny tyre so easier on the steering

I have 33's with big rims and I am seriously thinking of downgrading to 31's when they wear out as the guard rub is pissing me off. I have a B/L, S/L and front guards trimmed and still they rub.
Sure the truck looks great with the big feet but I do not think it is worth the hassle.

Cheers for the opinion, i think i am starting to agree, I think i will be going for a skinny tyre with a bit of height, just a shame not many manufactures are available in those sizes

Also what width are your 33s and rim size?

This may be an option aswell, move to a 16", might have to have a talk to some tyre guys see what sizes are available

these come in a nice size for a terrano

But are more of a 33, how ever the 31 is more of a 32
