From memory due to the shaft size a HX30 wheel is a good fit (with cover machining of course)

clocking the turbo, means turning the compressor housing.
but either way that turbo idea is gone. the rebuilder had a look and found cracks in the exhuast housing and bent fins on the turbine wheel.
so that was a waste of time...
he reckons that the turbine side of those turbos are a little small which generate heat, often crack heads, and crack the turbine housings.. and thats on the 2.4 let alone the 3.0
the mk1 hilux surf turbo has a bigger turbine wheel, so is a better option.
so either i try find one of those or...
im thinking of tdo4h and making an adapter plate.
good idea?

yep sure is.
Easy to rebuild, great response and have a good efficientcy(?). and handle more boost better.

the early surf may have a bigger turbine but they are a poor turbo. not sure if it would even bolt straight up.
inlet housing can be rotated but exhaust is not which makes getting the centre lined up difficult.
exhaust housing cracks are not always a major problem but the bent fins are. tho it may not be the surf turbine in it.
a td04 would be a lot better. almost anything would be better than the surf ct20!

I bet ma left nut the tdo4s were fitted to mitsy oil burners I think around 2.8 paj or similar. There are so many versions of these and they are a sweet unit unless you "need" the tdo5

that ebay listing is majorly screwed up.
title says Genuine garret for nissan ZD30.
description says isuzu IHI turbo.
only nissan ZD30 with waste gated turbo is navara, but they don't use garrets so its certain not genuine.
give that one a pass, tho i have heard good things of that company tho they are Chinese copies.

yea thought it seemed a bit weird. kinda looked used, or reconditioned or something. possibly a new core made by that brand in a used gt2056 housing.
triangle flange doesnt adapt quite so good with mine either.
alot of cheap shitty chinese turbos on ebay but these are produced in japan, assembled in taiwan. reviews seem to say quality is good
this one might work better... adjustable actuator and clockable too
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Turbocharger ... 826wt_1263not sure weather 13T or 15T would suit better or the 5L.
pajero 2.8's use 15T so maybe that, but i think the 13T would have quicker spool?
could anyone explain the difference in TD04L's, H's and HL's
anyone here had experience Kinugawa turbo's?

found this. the letters just regard the turbine side
TD04 = 47.0mm in, 40.0mm ex
TD04L = 47.0mm in, 41.3mm ex
TD04H = 52.0mm in, 44.2mm ex
TD04HL = 52.0mm in, 45.6mm ex
was speaking to a turbocare in wellington and they usually use HL for 3L and 5L engines.
i looked at some maps and a/r for all the 13T 15T versions.
compared with the specs on gt2056 the H is a closer match.
with the kinugawa it has a 6cm housing too, so quicker spool than that on gt2056
