Well not to worry, that handbrake deleted a couple of shots I took of her opening gates when i wasnt looking, grrrrr. :?

Will have to do some homework about that elusive Limestone glen tho. At least we both found it on the map.

Ken, here are some links to the products I was telling you about yesterday.
The mini ITX PC I have and will be getting the new screen and keyboard from Bangkok at Xmas time.
Will also look at some webcams there as well as I see there are some on Trademe at 1.3mp resolution, Looks like customs will be looking hard at me when I return  so will split my loot between the four of us.

Mini ITX PC. This is a great business to deal with; they went out of their way to assist me with some teething probs I had.

Keyboard

Just need to sort out a reasonable "Dashboard" software package to suit my needs. There are so many out there to choose from, its becomming confusing.

Was thinking about your webcam system too and think it may not take too much to design a simple switching system to allow several of these to be hooked to your laptop and have a selector switch for the one you want to use.
I will do some research on this for you.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

As for the selection of the cameras, a simple unplug, and plug the next one in would work a treat :-D

Yes that is an option, but with a little research I have come up with a simple idea of a selector switch and 4 inputs being switched through one output, all in a box about 80 x 30 x 50mm. Think I have most of the parts needed in my junk box.

This will make it easier to select different views on the fly without fumbling around for leads to plug in.

Definitly sounds like a better option.

I got a serial to av box today, just been playing round with it on a japanese monitor that I have. I get a less than perfect picture on the tv, mainly coz its only in B/W for some reason. And dpi is SH!T!!

Hopefully getting a better monitor in a few days.

Just hurry up and bring yours in!! lol

No worries.
Just thinkin that you may have the wrong output setting if you are getting B n W. Check to see if the monitor is PAL or NTSC and the output of your laptop etc. I had a lot of initial setup probs before all was sorted.
Can give you a hand later this pm if you like.

Have just about sorted the USB switching, have enough bits for a 2 way one. Just some mounting of components and its finished. Only had enough bits for 2 inputs tho. Need another of these for a 4 way one.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Cables/USB/auction-73047678.htm if anyone has one going for free, and a short USB lead would be handy too
