Hey Phil. Since when have you ever needed stronger axles? Kinda pointless having chromolys just to tow your boat bro!

Yea totally agree. I usually do any upgrades when I need to replace parts if I think its waranted. It appears that the chrome ones won't be better on the road anyway so better to stay standard. As I said before I may even have chrome ones in there but won't know till I strip it down. As you know there were a lot of mods done to my truck before it came into NZ. It was originally done up in Aus as a 4x4 demonstration truck. The thing I need to find out is if there are different axles for different models of the 80 series. I know there is one difference in the after market ones in that they need the thicker drive plates but not sure if the axles changed at all as the years progressed. As mentioned earlier I may have a different front diff housing than what came out in my truck (one of the first 80 series 1990) as there is ABS plugs which my truck didn't come out with ABS and I've also got the bigger brake rotors. I know the brakes can be changed over but they may have just changed over the whole diff housing. If the axles didn't change then its not going to be an issue anyway. Its just trying to find the answers I need so I can source the correct parts as I don't want to get the wrong ones out of Aus and have to send them back. Hopefully someone on here will know.
