I have not driven a truck with triple diff locks before

Apart from the front and rear lock, you will not notice any difference. When people state triple diff locks, it really means front and rear, as the ctr one only brings you up to a std part time 4wd with transfer case in (and hubs locked obviously).
Having said that, everything is much easier when you can cross axle lock both ends.

As it is sitting on near new road tyres, I will not be off roading it for some time. Have to save like a deamon to buy new feet, big exhaust, tune, gauges, snorkel, AT cooler, etc.etc.

Have I missed something ? what did you end up getting Pete ?, 80 or 100 ?, after you have saved up enough to fit an EGT gauge I will be interested in the readings towing the Caravan.

I bought an 80 Series Kevin.
First things to do on the list is to get an aftermarket AT cooler fitted along with a bigger exhaust and a tune from Nathan at Kaiapoi Repowers, along with fitting the boost, AT oil and EGT Gauges.

I better get cracking and order them.............

I will keep you informed on the temps when it is done.

Snorkel, winch and winch bar, lift and tyres will have to wait a while.

I will be removing the rear seats and custom building some storage drawers for it.

Hey Pete, word of advice, make sure if it needs to be certed that you have the third row of seats in when you do, otherwise it will be reclassified as a 5 seater... happened to my Prado...

I'd be interested to know what you decide to do about an AT temp gauge, most in the US seem to replace the drain bung... then there is wholesale automatics kit...

Duly noted thanks. I do not think it will get certed as everything going on it will be bolt on and only a 2" max suspension lift if needed.

I am looking at one of those MCC winch bars ss advertised on trsdeme to chuck on the front. Has anyone used one and what do you think of it.

I have one fitted on the front of my surf pete. Had to slot a couple of holes in the mounting kit and replaced all the chinese cheese bolts with high tensile ones. Hacked the top part to get to the free spool on the winch apart from that Im happy with it for the price of the bull bar.

I do not have any golden eggs, that is why I am looking at a MCC one, it only has to hold the winch in place, not push rocks out of the way

Not sure about the MCC units, but I got an Iron Man one for the playdoh 3 or so years back. Tis a wank factor bar only, but the powder coat finish doesn't last all that well. The polished stainless bits are holding quite well though.

If you are going to run an auxiliary oil cooler for the transmission see if you can get one with a temp probe point in it (some have then for switching fans on etc). If it is fitted to the hot side of the radiator then you will have a pretty good indicator of temps (there will be some drop I guess depending ont he length of the hose/pipes I guess). That way you dont have to butcher the trans pan or mess with the trans at all.

Just a thought.

I had one on my old 80 series, looked good was well built and could handle the knocks, didnt evenbend when my winch engaged by itself while I was driving down the track. But as rok said the powder coat is crap and doesn't last.

That is definitely the best place, I should have done it when I serviced the trans
