Yes it is a cool looking 55 and the steering set up has been well thought out, engineered and is most definately a better st up than what I have done

To tidy up your ute chop, don't worry about the paint, that will just get scratched any way, the plywood option is good, a renewable resource -just go with some no-more-gaps round the edges. Might want pinkbatts too, - keeps things warm

For ya 'tahs' get them taken off the rims and screw lots of real long screws through from the inside and then have them put back on, that will give you heaps of traction. And the air pressure on the inside will hold the heads against the tyre and seal the pressure in. If that doesn't work get some of that space invader stuff to full them up with.

Fweddy u forgetted to said you can add wooden bitz to the outer of the 'tahs' for the screws to screw in, this make it good for runin in mud, da wood will make da 'tahs' float better and gives back the road legal amount of tread, just add some stones or your sister and cousin to the truck before you attempt river crossings, the "tahs" will make it float, or roll over.

only thing is remive the 'tah" mods for the rock crawlin

with the 'plywood bak' u need to paint it unless you want to replace it when it gets waterlogged, Also if you can find a window for the back it will look more original and the WOF guy's cant ping you on mirrors.

The 'to hook' looks good but needs a piece of string holding it to the bumper in case u pul it off in a reverse toe, with the tire mod's yopu wont be the one stuk. Jerry can help you with that send him a PM.

Actually sticking lego blocks on with a bit of glue can give you some more traction and give u an instant 10mm of tread lol Also makes them warrentable

As for the ute chop shes farkin mint the greenies would be stoked with that. She'll be right mate, you could put some rimu architraves around if you want that 'bling' factor

I was going to suggest screw on sprigs, that way when then wear out you can just screw in new ones but I now see that wood screws with planks of 4x2 is a much better idea.

With the plywood hole coverer, just hinge it at the bottom and run some bailing twine from the top and tire it to the revision mirror. That way when you reverse you can let the back down and it gives you a better view, also handy when you do the shopping and for picking up nthe kids from school
