got the bar mounted up to test fit and check clearnaces. Hopefully i can finish it during the week.

Good job on the bar but you may want to check that its legal to have your indicators that far inward, fairly sure they need to be within 300 from the corner.

Went to the BOP club champs. Excellent weather and lots of mud.
Someone should ask Fergus how hard is it to breath under water when you roll your truck.

It could have turned out very nasty indeed - the worst bit was that I was stupid enough to stick my arm out & it got caught between the roll cage & the mud (I know it was a really F*^%ING STOOPID thing to do & I should have known better but sh*t happens ) & yes the truck was sinking deeper & it was getting tricky to breathe
SO BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO RUSHED IN TO LIFT THE TRUCK SO I COULD GET MY ARM OUT & THEN ESCAPE FROM THE TRUCK & yes I am shouting that very loudly.

The arm is OK if a little bruised & yes I did jump back in the truck & finish the day - came 4th overall - not bad for only my 2nd outing

according to the research i did (LVVTA site) the positioning must:

"No further inboard than 400mm from the outer-most part of the vehicle"

and according the that rule i am JUST legal.
My problem is with the stop lamps (same rule applies) If i get pulled up on it then I will change it because this is the most practicle way of mounting. Not a major to change anyway.



I have just looked at the LTSA site and see what you are talking about

"be fitted within 300 mm of the extreme rear end of the vehicle and within 300 mm of the extremity of the side of the vehicle closest to the middle of the road"

This could be a BIG PITA

Got about 400m past the gate on Tukino ski feild and the started getting stuck due to the amount of snow, and lack of weight, plus the wife was freeking out heaps, so I turned back.

4wding in snow, hmmmmm ill add that to my "to do list"

those southerners aren´t invited cause they do it every year

feel free, theres heap of snow on the desert ATM, and I'm keen to go up there again, we just need a heavier lead vehicle cause the zooks don't pack the snow down enough and won't did either

seriously though, if you go up the mountain, it would be a good idea to have a vehicle with chains.

we drove up to Tukino Skifield last year and the snow is very deceptive. one minute its hard and the next its soft.
was highly embarrased when a man from a ski lodge had to come and tow 3 members of our 4wd club out of thier predicament when we under estimated the snow depth.

Spent the last week in Christchurch and Queenstown. Did lots of skiing etc it was great to finally have a holiday!
Heres some pics:
The first is going through Lindis Pass on Friday. The campervan in front demonstrated some ice drifting for us (not purposely) it looked insane!!

didnt do a hell of a lot hooked up dog traler up to new wagon n lights didnt work so spent weeked trying to sort it out couldnt figger out why r/h side wouldnt work at all decided to rewire it found the prob one of the dogs had chewed through the wireing under neath how the hell it got to it i will never know because it had to be pulled out of the steel tube to get to it ??????(put in tubeing because they chewed it befor)

finished up the last few things on the truck on sat. and on sunday went for a strop op worlsey's spur. It was rather muddy in places up there but the ground was still frozen in places so it made it hard to get any traction. Hell of a lot of fun. Truck it the dirtiest it has been in a long time

finnished off the isuzu sump bak on, and got it out of me carport finnaly

cut down a tree at the back of the section as it was getting too big,

cleaned out my shed and got my rig in to gas the belly plates to bash them bak into shape so they would go back on

Bought a Standard 91 Landcruiser 80 VX Ltd on Friday, pretty good nick, factory lockers front and rear, 4.2 diesel turbo auto, so have a blank cavas to work with. Thanks to Wopass for his assistance.
Plans are so far,
Snorkel
Front and rear bars with hooks and with winch on front
Suspension lift and body lift to be able to fit 35"
Diff breathers
Conversion to run on Veg oil or diesel.

I'm sure there will be other things to do.

But first will be to change all of the fluids so that I know it is all upto scratch.

packed the entire household contents into boxes and crammed all couches, tv, stereo, fridge, everything!, into the smallest bedroom and ripped up the whole houses carpet and underlay too...

well, now the builders will hopefully be able to get the extensions done and i wont have to live in carnage...

p.s.... living at inlaws + no broadband = niblik suffering...

i went for a play up by lake lyndon in porters pass on saturday. saw heaps of people with chains half done up and slapping the hell out of there gaurds

road was pretty ice in places



a nice day up there and didnt see any accidents which was good.

I was up at Lake Lyndon in the morning too, were you one of the group of 4wds that came over at 11:30ish?

I was up there at around that time in (Aza's) red diahatsu rugger, along with a few of the guys from here and my mate in his suzuki. Was a real nice drive.

Sunday went out for a play smashed another CV so went and had beer and watched suzuki extreme 4x4

gees Dan, you gotta luv those fun trials. How many stops do you need to get a zero. I might have to come and do one of those events, I might do well with that scoring system

worked on sat then on sunday i cleaned all the oil off my carport floor from when i did my engine swap. then sat down with a couple of black hearts and watch suzuki extreme.

i came over at about that time but not with that group. i was in the hilux towing the inflatable boat around.

i was one of them to, thought it could of been you in front of me at one point, but wasnt to sure there were a lot of people on the otherside of porter pass, saw a shinny hummer in the snow (but by the road)

Could have been, did you pull off the road on a corner? my truck had the ropes on the back...

You will find that brownie points have a very short expiration date, if you don't redeem them immediately they are null and void.

All previous work/effort is nullified and it's only what your currently doing for her that will count!

Yeah ok ok I know. I was actually going to stop Skid because when it went vertical it was a STOP, I knew it but they all keep yelling to carry on so I did. Have to admit tho that Rex made me look real good thanks to his flop

Just remembered Disregard all the above, it was actually the camera angles that made it look like a stop, at no time did forward travel cease (TUI AD)
