Recommend me GPS unit all you Gurus....

Found a good buy? Had some good service? Found a dodgy product or had dodgy work done. Let us all know. We all want to know about the good buys and warn us before throwing our money away on useless crap!

My Garmin Vista is 9 years old and they still sell the same model, albeit with a bit more memory.

Nice setup - some dashes are too curved for the dash mount but that looks good. Looks like the heel of the GPS is resting on the dash too - that's a good plan to minimise vibration of the screen on corrugated roads.

Thanks kiwitonita, I folded panel steel into a bracket that attaches to the PRS radio bracket and then screwed the GPS disconnect base onto the bracket, so no holes drilled in the dash and the GPS sits nice and firm.

I fitted another disconnect base to the curved dash of my SURF, by making up a wedge base that sticks( mounting stickies supplied with bases ) to the top of the dash that leaves me with a flat surface to stick the base on.
This allows me to move the GPS between vehicles.
