Already fitted: Tail-light grill guards on Grumpy. Bling bling stainless entry sills on Stroppy.

To do tomorrow: Strip winch out of XJ, see if anyone at fully equipped is awake enough to find me a winch mount for Grumpy. Replace roofrack and clean XJ inside and out. Pay for Grumpy's 33/12.5/15 MT/R's. Sort purchase and reg/wof of camping trailer.

some of you probably aint going to believe this but I got the surf running today .......... actually I wouldnt believe it myself :lol:

But I did get the exhaust manifold all bolted up, pyro sender unit in, camshaft torqued down, timing belt stuff all figured out. Not to bad for me considering it took me over an hour to find my socket set, damned brother had borrowed it and not told me :evil:

About 5 months ago i refitted my dental surgery with new gear so lots of old bits were chucked out - but I kept the light - today i finally got round to doing something with it

the base is a diff casing welded to a LT77 handbrake drum

seems heay enough to be stable but can esliy be dragged around the shed to illuminate what i'm up to

Engine was down on power, particularly going uphill. Muffler shop had a look and it sounds like cat converter is ***ting itself internally. Not fully blocked yet, but its getting there.

On top of that, rather just behind it, muffler has developed a leak in it as well. Will have to get it sorted next week.

the boy wont be in the truck at the speed day, the harnesses are thru the buckle and then wrapped around the bar and looped under them selves to tidy up exess strap and the extra bar is on the list :roll:

but now i have bigger fish to fry,have to replace all the wheel studs in the front left corner and try to streighten my buckled rim (or buy another one) as today it got a hammering :twisted:

Fitted a hilux power steer pump to the Supra motor, copied Hosehustlers mount for the pump. (Cheers Tim)
Plumbed up the new pump to steering box and mounted the remote reservoir. Had to relocate my coil and fusebox to make room.
Replaced the cam seals, tried finding a new timing belt as old one has been cooked by the leaking oil from the buggered cam seals.
Fitted all new shocks, front and rear.
Fitted a new return to center Steering damper.
Plastered my ORE stickers on too.
Hopefully take the old girl out for a run tomorrow, once I've finished rewiring the coil and igniter pack

I finally got around to making an auto tranny sump protector for the Terrano today.
Got some 6mm x 650x350mm plate and welded 3 x 50mm angle irons lengthwise to it for added strength. :shock:

I know its a little overboard, would have preferred 40mm angle irons, but all the engineers had was 50. :wink:

Cut the irons at a 45deg angle on the ends to help prevent snagging, but have not filled them in. I only have a limited amount of tools at hand. :oops:

Attached it to the crossmembers with 4 x 8.8 bolts. Drilling the holes with a battery drill was hard work, but the trusty old Dewalt got me there. :wink:

No photos as it was dark as I was bolting it all in, with the help of the trolley jack!

No doubt it will get a testing as i'm off to do the Pahau and Hurunui Rivers tomorrow with another club.

Got a scare when I looked under the old girl after the Poulter River trip, only to discover a slight gouge in the bottom of the pan, but it hasn't affected the transmission that I can tell anyways.

Will take it in sometime to get the tranny serviced/checked and get them to hammer the dent out at the same time.

Now im going to have to make something to protect the engine sump........... Ahh, the list goes on and on and on........... :arrow:

As soon as its all legal we'll be there.
Just got X over steering to do, fit rear disc brakes, IFS hub swap, rebuild front brake calipers. Get cert.
Yeah not too much left, I must have made a bit of progress in the last few months. I had a lot longer list than that a few months ago

Yeah, that's what the guy suggested. A bit of straight pipe and new muffler, problems solved.

He reckons there is no need to go to 2.5 inch pipe as this is naturally aspirated. hey did you have a second sensor on the cat?

LOL, we had this conversation remember TJ, my ONLY sensor was on the cat. After a few little misfire issues immediatley after the cat was cut out its been fine, seems it may have needed a little "breathing space" perhaps.

No need to go to 2.5 inch? Isnt it 2.5 inch anyway? Then again, who knows what happens in the minds of Jeep designers??????????

had a busy weekend .turned 40 and had a pissup last night.got so munted cant remember what happened for half the night . got up this morning and was supposed to be at interclub champs at 9 but finally arrived at 12 after lots of water and panadol.only managed a couple of hours till the panadol wore of then home for a kindy nap

Spent all weekend following the WRC and the Possum Bourne Memorial Rally around. AWESOME as usual. Spent a windy night last night up on the the Whanga Coast to to beat the road closure so we could get to the primo spot where you can see the cars for about 5k's.

Did i mention it was AWESOME :lol:

Not much 4x4 realated, but did about 700K's+ in the safari, towed a few knobs out that got there cars stuck on the side of the road. Biggest was a ford transit with car trailer from one of the support crews that go stuck up to its rear axle :lol:
