A wee tip for those DIY, File the edges of the glass once the film is on with ya misses nail file(or any small file) to help prevent the film lifting off the edges when you wind the window up or down.
The pro's use this to actually cut the film if its too big.

Thats according to my my partners old man who is a major military gun nut. Its to do with keeping them out of site when in the vehicle to avoid the vehicle being broken into with the intent to steal the arms.
Saying that, (although i believe my source to 100% correct) i have yet to see any actual document stating the above fact.

I am not doubting your source, but logically won't the woud be thieves be able to see from the front windscreen and see there is something in the front?? Using your logic, I should be able to completely darken my front windscreen to make it really secure
