So, that would mean passing through Wangavegas at about 6.00am :shock: another early mornin.....ahhh well, keep us posted, if anyone is plannin on a convoy through here, we wanna join in the fun!! :D

If we are having a big convoy then we may as well have convoy names eg Rubber duck etc

do people want to travel up the night before and then relax and trash oops I mean have a quiet beet or 3 at Euans or Nicks place :lol:

Yup, know that too, but where in Stratford are ya gunna meet up? :D
Edit: Caltex, B.P, or some other landmark??
If anyone is convoying through from south, let us know, and we will arrange to meet ya at a prominent Wanganui landmark.

Only got a hand held, but will keep that in mind, and listen out for ya 8) 8)
Really lookin forward to this trip, the missus even consented, and we bought new steel wheels to fit our new mud tyres on :D :shock: 8)

if there is fri nite accomidation in the naki area then that could be a plan, was just thinking for those in welly/hawkesbay ( Dazza you still coming over?) then we are a good halfway kinda point in the trip, but will join convoy to naki on either day.. to get to stratford from here means leaving here at 5am..... ish :evil:

looked up whanga road on some online maps.... didn't cme up with anything... so how do i get directions to this place?? lol

The digger's been through the road very recently so there are some things you should know. The repair work has left the track very soft and there are no ruts formed at this stage in many sections. This means extreme care needs to be taken to avoid a long drop into the river in places. There are also reports of a quite major slip with more poised to fall. We have some guys going through for a look this weekend but at this stage, its no shiny trip. cheers.

Thanks Gordon for the information. Also good work that Egmont has done with the track. Perhaps some of your members might like to come along and meet ORE members.

how many hours drive from rotorua is np? i think napia is like 3 or 4 hours?
