Where were you when the prize giving was happening Steve???

Sorry about ripping your bumper off the way I did! When Ric and Corey told me to, "GO GO GO Pete!" I was expecting your bumper to be made like mine and take a heap of forcing to get straight. I didn't mean to rip it off like it did. Sorry dude.  Hope your trucks ok.

Well. I'm on the fence really. Corey reacons it's only a minor job to get fixed. (but he's dealing with the sudden fame of being on TV3 news right now, so he feels bullet proof) But I was planning on getting a soft top made anyway. The most damage was done to the front end pannels and the bonnet actually.

There's no rush to get it fixed. i drove it home :D

you can get all that stuff in fiberglass if you cant find any rust free panels, bit of a shame for such a tidy body on that truck :?

PR wrote:The scoring was a joke  if you went on to the course a stoped straight away you got 100 points if you went on and had to reverced (which most people had to do cause it was so tight) and nocked over two pegs you got 140 points. :? :? :? :? out of my 2200 odd points 1600 was due to revercing

Sorry for the newbie question but how does the scoring work?

I could see that as soon as forward motion stopped the stage was finished. Why do they make the course so tight when it's impossible for many to get around the very tight bends? Like that cabbage tree - OK if the vehicle had skid steering but for most they need to reverse. I noticed some stages had harder (tighter radius) bits for the vehicles equipped to make the sharp turns.

It may be easier if someone could just point me to an already published scoring system that these events use. Thanks - Tony.

I agree.
But to be honest mate. For a, what I thoiught was a, "fun" event.?? I wasn't expecting it to be so naily or serious. Straight up..
If I had of looked at the course before signing up? I would of passed. I'm not that experianced (as the pix show). But hey, I learnt alot and had a shit load of fun and meet some great people.
It was worth every cent.

Cheers.
Pete.

In the pre event drivers meeting Rick from 4wd accessiores voiced his concerns about the tight turns and revercing  they just said they did not care

Danm IFS. yep blew a CV on stage four. Finished the stage in two wheel drive and only got 20points against me for it. Solid axle comming soon and I will see you all back there next year. I think there were about 4/5 rollovers for the day, but there were plenty of mechanical breakages. Had to go early as the daughter was starting to shiver and get hypothermic. great day still.

In the clip you get an idea of how tight it was. Even zuks were having problems on some of the really tight ones. Was able to get round some by throwing it in rear wheel drive and putting the back sideways but most there was no show of getting round.

In saying that it was a great day put on for us.
