Post subject: Re: RUST REMOVAL....Posted: 2009-04-24, 21:56:12

after the easter weekend trip i was totaly gutted at how useless the front end was without a locker so...

it got the treatment today, my longfield super set arrived from SNR and got my paws on a 2nd hand A.R.B front air locker and compressor, wireing, switches etc and set to it this morning and its all in and working now

no pics as i was too busy getting it all in and working

now im just waiting on the cert plate and then that will end the build

do you want arb bling or do you want the same switch with no labeling
i have a few here ... SPST .. its just to supply power for your compressor ?? there 20 amp rated and look identical... even have the light in them
rrp is $80 a switch i can do you a brand new one for $40 still in its box .. have it here even ... have relays and relay holders as well :D $6 bucks for a brand new SPDT relay 30amp rated and $6 bucks for a holder pre terminated of with open clips :D
all bought today ....
99% sure you wont be able to just buy the cover ... looked into that this week as well

ok so a bit late but...

thanks Euan for the switch cover  looks so much better

and onto the next thing, mounting my spare...

so this is where its at now and how im planning on having it mounted so i can access the recovery gear box in the back.it also leaves me with full rear view out the back which is handy when i have to tow someone

just strapped in for the moment untill ive confirmed that its going to work, then ill make a permanent mount there for it

ok so i went and stole some steel mesh off pete tonight, came home and cut it up and fitted it so thats done, will put up pics tomorrow night.

finished the battery iso switch off so thats done

and going to have the spare strapped in same as the above pics for the RWC so i can see if its going to be sweet before i make a permanent braket off the cage to mount it to.

and the missile was in the readers rides of 4WD TV tonight on sky

except Simon claims that Pete and Sez owned and built it  ...when did that happen!!! :o

hey at least then i would have finished the northland comp if i was in your truck eh!!

anywho, pics of my cargo barrier... not terribly exciting but gotta show and tell :P

Image

Image

and ive swapped the drivers side rear coil out for one of the bigger king springs that i have as it had a major lean on that side with the spare and fuel tank etc all on the same side  but it sits level now so all good, just wont be as supple on that corner but will take the extra weight...looks a bit odd as well with different sized coils but who gives a shit if it works
