Dirty Weekend - Queens Birthday - Rallywoods Wgtn
Just a reminder guys that we will be leaving the meeting point at the corner of Haywards Hill Road (SH58) and Moonshine Road at 9.45am sharp.
If for any reason you are going to be a few minutes late (or even hours late) and don't know how to get to the Green Hut in Rallywoods give me a call on 021 225 0064 or 920 5423 and we will organise someone to come out and meet you.
Bear in mind that cell phone coverage is not great anywhere in Rallywoods and in most cases non-existent so leave a message if I don't answer. You can also try calling on channel 10 if you have a PRS.

Confirmed so far I know of who are either going to be there for 1, 2 or all three days.
Possibles:
Daisy - are you coming my friend? Would like to see you there.
Lilpigzuk - are you still making the trek down?
Dieselboy - are we going to see the mighty 50 in action?
Red90 - coming down to show us a real Land Rover?
There might be some more whom I have inadvertently missed, I haven't gone through all 20 odd pages of posts
If anyone needs or wants to get in contact with me my cellphone number is 021 225 0064 or if you are in Wellington and want to call my cellie for free you can do so by calling 920 5423.
Weatherwise it is either going to be brilliant or not depending on your point of view. Rain or showers forecast for Saturday and Sunday with some fine spells on Monday. That means it could become very slippery in there. Should be a bit of humour. So from my point of view the weather forecast is looking just right.
Sorry guys, not possible, landies in for an insurance job

real Land Rover- maybe after a few mods

Factory fit bull bar available so strop put on that. 1st pull nothing doing, gettting really dark, 2nd pull. Part of bullbar into top edge of roof nice crease and slice thru ally, strap smashed rear window and bits of glass did in the front window as well

Moral of the story, if they don't have the correct gear don't do it

no sleeps left now

For breakfast I've brought enough supplies for about 8-12 people on sunday morning (bacon, eggs, hash browns, baked beans). I thought after the saturday night drink people might need some greasy stuff to get them through the sunday trip

Man... what a weekend! That was the best thing we have done in a long time. All the photos and stuff are over here:

I haven't even dug my camera out of the pile of gear waiting to be put away yet, but I'll post up the few pics that I have from around the fire and stuff later.
A few things were left behind, most of which I put in the trailer and brought home. Here's the list:
- Cloggy's axe
- Sam's pyro kit (fuel container)
- Sam's pinch bar
- 5 DB Exports (lost in the system now though
)
- Heaps of rubbish and left over food
There also seemed to be heaps of cuttlery, plates, etc, which I left there. I did find a thermos lid which someone may miss. I washed it and left it in the dish rack in the hut.
Doddzee and Sadam, I have a refund of your access fee from Sunday sitting in my truck for the next time I see you... don't forget to grab it off me next time.
And yes, we are going to make it an annual thing from now on. It was a national event this time with Mike coming up from ChCh and lilpigzuk coming down from up north, so there's no excuse for others to not come down next year. I've now got some good GPS track logs of the place (not all of it obviously, but a good wack) so Cloggy and I can create a map for next time to help us plan for the huge number of trucks that will descend on Rallywoods next year!
Thanks for the great weekend guys and girls. It was a great 4wd event, but even better social event!

Can do. The new Rallywoods site is up and running and bookings can be made that far in advance.
I'll just do it eh?
We need to make sure we have a couple of ARAC approved trip leaders by the next one so we can run our own trip(s) into the Aka's.

At least mine was easy.
All that was wrong was a split in the radiator hose going into the intake manifold. But it was well hidden from view and had to pull a few things apart to get to it. But at the end of the day I am not complaining. $9.00 fixed it.

I found a split in my fuel line tonight...

Dunno how I'm going to get the 1/3 of a tank of gas off the shed floor and back into the tank?
I am complaining... it cost me $50.00
