How do you think you will go with the fixed back seats? don't spose you will know until you have a few hours in them eh?

 yep , haircut coming up very soon!
Fixed back seat should be fine, my RX-3 Rally car had fixed back seat, and that was great for years. It feels really comfy as soon as ya hop in so I'm hoping that's a good sign :D

What sort of separation have you got between links at the housing end there Jafa? It looks like shit loads considering you only need about 250mm for 40" tyres.

edit: sorry dude just had a closer look at your bottom links on top of the housing.

Yer links are on top, gives flatter links, which is sposed to be better. Vert separation is 235mm

Didnt get a whole lot done over the weekend, had to make some bits for my lasercutting guy, gotta keep him happy :D
He does competitive combat handgun shooting, and we came up with a new magazine base for his semi auto .45 colt that gives him another round in the magazine.
Image

seemed to work, so we made a few
Image

I did get some bits done tho,
exhaust is done, started off with just a muffler, it was way too loud so I had to tear down to exhaust shop and grab a resonator, its still too loud for my liking, but not much room for anything else to go in
Image

Image

Made a heat shield so I dont melt my dive tank reg
Image

And tonite I made a manifold for the ARB solenoids, includes a reg and guage so I can keep the pressure down at 100psi for the lockers, and higher for anything else. (160 psi coming out of the divetank)

I've been a bit slack with pics lately, but fear not, shit has been going on
I still hadnt got my diff heads back on monday, so I thought, fawk it, I'll strip it down for paint now instead of waiting till after a shakedown run. saves me some time, dont have to do it twice. So off to the sandblasters went the chassis and diff housings, picked them back up today, meanwhile patched up and finished the tunnel, threw some seam sealer around and patched any hole in the firewall that are surplus.

time to sand inside the cab and engine bay, then throw some color around

I don't like painting, don't have the patience for it, and its fawkin messy. Any way, got a couple of coats of black POR15 on the chassis and diffs, and topcoated the chassis with "stainless steel" cab is done inside, underneath and engine bay with the same dull silver. Haven't finalized a scheme for outside, most likely dark blue, silver and yellow, our SNR4X4 colors
Oh yes!! and have some diff heads now too!! 8) 8)

Got more together tonite, assembled the front axle. Sorted out the ARB. Did a small tech writup for Pirate on how to setup knuckles without the Toyota Special Service Tool. Takes a while when ya photo it all etc, second side went really quick :D
linky here for those interested
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734345

Did the old "replace diff studs with button capscrews from the inside" mod as well
Image

Chucked in a set of TG "Rock Rings" as well, they are much thicker than the factory felt retainers
Image

Assembled the axle and threw it under

Got some brakes done now, filled the fluids in g-box, diffs etc, and went for a fang down the street!  Goes good!
Flexed her up on the forklift to see how much fibreglass i have to cut away....lots
Also tried it with the rear coil top captured instead of allowing it to drop away, I think captured is better, it makes the front work better, and the chassis stay flatter. I get a little less height in the front, 30mm or so, but it sits a lot flatter. I think it will want to flop around with the coil loose. I'll make a clamp device to limit the dropout that I can adjust easily, and try both on the trail.

Heres some nice braided brake hose 8)
Image

and some flex pics, heres the font with coil uncaptured

and captured, notice the chassis is flatter
