Okee, after our little shakedown play last weekend, a couple of things I didnt like, mainly a bit of weirdness when starting to climb something steep, like a wall or the guard on the trailer. As soon as the tire came up against an object, it would extend the front suspension, raising the front end before climbing over the obstacle. Not good.

After a bit of research and pm'ng a guy on pirate4x4 in the US whose a bit of a suspension guru, I have come up with a fix. We used his numbers in a 3link calculator (that I highly recommend to anyone toying with linked suspensions), and compared them to mine. His truck climbs like a mountain goat, and drives well on the seal also, but took a bit of messing to get it there, so basically he's done all the hard work
Heres mine before. The front of the truck is left hand side, blue line is the top link, red is the lower and yellow is the panhard.
As you can see, it wants to raise the front when the wheel is against an obstacle, and the roll axis is really steep ( high and flat is ideal)

after

top link is much flatter, lowers longer and flatter, goes much better, even just driving onto the trailer
better antisquat numbers, and nicer roll axis numbers. Very close to the US fellas numbers
I had to make new lower links, a new upper link mount on the axle, and move the upper link frame mount to the old lower link frame mount hole. This calc also will tell you if your links will bend with half the weight of your truck on them as well...very handy
New lowers, 50mm x 4mm wall chromoly

new upper link mount to clear panhard

I wish I'd known about this calculator when I first designed this suspension

instead of just eyeballing it
