Very slick. Good work!
Good to see you spending so much time on it.

I see you've taken the wind sreen supports off. Are you going to permanently fix the screen nib? How are you going to do that?

goin to relocate the supports inwards approximately 30 - 40mm from where they were.. this way i could still put the front down if wanted but it'll be fixed too.. just weld the stays to the windscreen and upper dash.. will show more soonly..

that notching technique is exactly the same as the way I did mine, but I think if my memory serves me correctly, I found that the left cut out fitted on the right and visa versa.

looking good nibby

are your wipers up top or down low ??

make sure ya build ya cage with the windscreen up to ensure a snug fit

I didn't but it turned out to be a fluke fit anyway, luckily

managed to get the screen stays finished up..
used one of the bolt holes on the top portion to keep things easy.. then drilled and bolted the second hole...also had to drill out a hole for the securing bolt to do up and into...
Image

on the passengers side i notched the inner piece (as in pic) so i could use the jesus bars bolt to locate it...
Image

so when its all bolted together its holdin the windscreen up and all safe and sound...
Image

and drivers side done..
Image

and finished plumbing up the power steering and cooler... i'll tidy up the lines later... plenty to do and fit in there yet.... may need to manoeuvre things around in there... had a 'rex' of a time tryin to locate a banjo bolt to fit the lines.. then i was in need of the little brass washer seat thingy hoodads that the flare of the lines pushes down onto and forms a seal... but found em...

rear brake lines on diff done... at the Tee intersection i followed some advice from a dc and used flexi's onto the upper control arm and from there onto the chassis rail..

Image

was gonna use flexis to the calipers but oh well, they bend a tad anyhoo... just welded tabs onto housing to hold lines in place..

thru advice from a good bastard, have added the retainin clippy bits for the flexi lines.. tacked em in a bit better...

Image

Image

also moved the hard lines on the rear diff to be inside the control arm mounts a tad for protection and on the diff a bit more as opposed to on the back...

Image

Image

also the clutch is all fully hooked up now.. so thats another step done...

then quickly made up these handles and hot glue gunned them on...

 Classic :!: You can get some pretty good disinfectant these days - Get a plastic car seat cover and give it a good scrub down after and should be alright to take Rex for a ride (that's what the Doctor has been telling people)

okey dokey.......

got a fan and nibified the fan's shroud to fully incapsulate the radiator's fins.. also put a lip of polyurethane around the shroud where it'll contact the radiator.. you can see where i've extended the shroud to fit...(around the bottom inch and a tad.. :D )
Image

the trouble started to come when i was to fit the fan onto the radiator.. the depth of the shroud was too deep... rather than try and cut it all the way around and keep it flat so as to bolt up easy and be flush, i went another way...

i got some thick neoprene styles weather strip like stuff and fitted to radiator mountin side... (can see the teflon template there too...)
Image

then i had fabbed up some adaptors that went from toyota radiator to commy fan shroud.. thus, with one end bolted to the radiator, then when the other end is bolted to the fan and done tight, the neoprene acts like a spring washer and allows the fan to pull tight onto the polyurethane... this way i'm insured to be fitting all the way around well.. from the side it looks like thusly even..
Image

so in the end the fans on and lookin ok... fits the radiator sweetly..
Image

Image

nothing in the world as sweet as twins... everything 'twins' is good... with the middle lever i had to mod it a tad too... put a little notch in the lever and bent it out of the way, then welded it so when the gear lever is in 2nd or 4th it wont collide with the middle lever..

What have you done with the fuel tank with the radiator in the deck? or is the rad fan airflow aimed at the tank? doesn't look like there is a lot of room under the truck with the links and drive train with duals. I know you are going to modify the cage but in the under shot there looks to be two bolts into just the pannel why did you not chop the plate's and sandwich the plate looked big enough. Looks good keep up the good work and if you don't want passengers you can put the fuel tank where the seat goes :D also the brake lines look a lot better, the tabs will stop any vibration in the hard lines causing them to split or leak.
Legal disclaimer: Any information I may have provided is worth exactly what you paid me for it.

it'll be the same theory as when its mounted right behind a cab or vehicles seats etc... shouldn be a hassle.. :D

fuel tank in the deck cos, yep, you spotted it, the control arms are in the way and duals are too long to fit the tank underneath.

i'll be finishin it off at a later date, ie takin it back to the chassis...

countersunk some higher tensile bits to hold on the gearbox mount to the fabbed up and complete crossmember thingy... used the stocko normal mount parts onto the chassis and trimmed out the centre to accomodate the fold etc.. just nibfied em a tad..

Image

Image

and on the cross on the cage, put a slight bend in there to create more room... not complete yet of course...

due to moving the motor forward by 200mm to accomodate driveshaft lengths and lessen the effect of rear driveshaft offset, there was this chasm.. what could i put in there me thinks :?: :|

Image

first i removed the stock styles heater plates from in the engine bay and reversed them to be 'in cab'..

Image

well, then it was time i fabbed up a pair of these...

Image

so once i buzzed a plate on and sat it in place it looked like this...

Image

to eventually nestle one of these....
