very nice work Tom, ChCh has always set the trend for modified hilux's but us lot who thought rears up front, coons and a supra motor were the bee's knees really need to lift our game.
I like what you do with these new fangled coily springs.

Thank you. Yip those were the days. Still rate the Supra motor tho, 7800rpm in a Hilux, gotto love it

Nah not yet. Might not happen in too much of a hurry either as the ramp is 1600mm high

May have over cooked it abit
As for El-Nibbo. Hes been rather quiet as of late. Is he hibernating?

dont often slap you on the back tom but that is some serious flex you got going on there. very impressed. so you put peoples vehicles thru cert for them?. thats the tricky bit too most of us. ever thought of moving to the north island.

maybe you could get customers to put feedback on your work up here like how they found your setups off road etc. help with advertising. love your posts

Nope can't say I have any plans to move anywhere. Yes I prefer to take the majorly modified trucks thru cert myself. Certs no problem. Basically it doesn't matter whether they are going to be on the road of trailer queens, they still have to be the same standard.

Cheers. Judging by the panel work on Andy's wagon, he'll test it well I'd say.

Spent today chipping away on Bobs winch truck. First up I have to say..... What a F@#king weapon. Supercharged lexus, manual shift auto blah blah blah. Just awesome. Built like a bulldozer tho
Anyways Bobs asked me to fix the panhard mount on the diff which had snapped off

I've ended up modifying the chassis mount and fitting a 80 series panhard rod to it.
Tomorrows job is to sort out the hydraulic bump stops.

Fabricated a double shear mount at the diff. Fingers crossed this fixes the problem

Here you go Tim

Coilovers are in, just got to whip up a brace over the top of the engine.

Things are looking like this will be done halfway thru tomorrow. Time for some loving, 60's style

I won't fella

I'll build the brace first. I've not bothered to put the front wheels back on yet so I can basically have the diff sitting on the floor while I'm working in the engine bay. Ya get sick of being a monkey climbing all over the truck

Top Job Tom. As usual.

Keep up the good work,

What spring rates did you bang in there Tom? Tim has about the same weight as mine in the front. I was running 250/350 (I think

) but the 250 was a bit soft as I recall, and I can't recall what I have in there now

400/250lb but that may need changing if Tim desires. I have a pair of 350lb coils here to replace the 400lb coils if needed.
Here it is finished

We have a new winner on the ramp
Strut brace

Wait till I give you the bill, that should take care of your wee grin issue

Thanks

The only thing it would need for cert would be swaybars. But being a trailer queen we wont bother with that

Thats cunning, Have your own rig the highest up the ramp so all the customers want their suspension upgraded to beat it and be at the top.. LOL

Not just a pretty face.
I had to chuck the 37's on the 60 this morning and run it up the ramp just to make sure
Not only at the top, but about 200mm past Tims hilux, which WAS at the top ahahahahaha

Yes I have pics, but it'll have to wait till tomorrow night
