Jafa wrote:Okee, after our little shakedown play last weekend, a couple of things I didnt like, mainly a bit of weirdness when starting to climb something steep, like a wall or the guard on the trailer. As soon as the tire came up against an object, it would extend the front suspension, raising the front end before climbing over the obstacle. Not good.

Received some photos yesterday that really shows what jafa was talking about. It looks like a yawning whale

Good luck on your trip south!!

jafa i'm no bright spark but if i read it right when you start a climb that's when the front end lifts on the suspension.
if so could that be the torque from the motor lifting the front.

Ha i could be talking out of my ass here

but dam thats looks like 1 hell of a truck. i should try and catch you while your down here in chch.

Did you drive down the switch back Jafa? And the big arsed down hill that the army have now banned their vehicles from?
Looks like you had reasonable sort of break in the weather for the last day anyways.

Well I had the privilege to meet the Jafa and the mighty TOYOTA and spent the afternoon in there company yesterday. I found the Jafa to be ( for a north islander ) very much like us good mainland blokes  . A true ambassador for the sport of 4WDing and vehicle building. Now the mighty TOYOTA, that is truly amazing, was built as a rock climber but equally at home on the riverbed and I believe after this weekend will excel in the West Coast mud and silt. A big thanks to Bulletproof and Uboat for putting there hands up to take Jafa on a W/Coast weekend, wish I could be with you. Once again thanks Jafa for letting me ride shotgun for the afternoon, and I really wanted to see how the suspension worked, that is why I asked to get out when you where playing on silly angles, I wasn't scared of you rolling it , ,

HONEST I WASN'T, I DID HAVE THE DOG TO THINK ABOUT AS WELL,

FITZY.
