hey tom
could you answer a quick few questions about the snorkel on this 70?
whats the idea behind the recess into the quard for the pipe to sit into?is it to keep the snorkel no wider than the body?and also have you just used riv-nuts through the panel steel to mount it?
looks awesome by the way.
cheers

I recessed it because the truck getting the full exo cage treatment and there will be a bar which runs over the top of the snorkel which I didn't want sticking out too much. Also exo cages arn't allowed to be more than 100mm from the body.
The truck was factory fitted with the beautiful piece of design genius which is known as the wading snorkel  I just picked up on the factory bolt holes which look like they are captive nuts welded to a plate inside the piller and guard. I re-used all the factory rubber mounts too

That's some fine work on the cruiser!

Counting down the days till I can bring my Safari in. Unforunately stuck with house renovations. Damn Mrs. But she has granted me permission to modify the truck after! :D

Keep up the great work, look forward to seeing more progress photos.

Tom, your work in exemplary. I've just read all 38 pages and I'm very impressed. Loving the barwork, and it seems like I no longer need my mig and my grinder since you're just up the road :)

It doesn't seem like not that long ago you pulled into the carpark of my office in Amberley in a reasonably tidy Surf you'd just got a 1G running in...

I just had to comment on something Rok said back around page 34ish tho:

Asthetics?! You created, then drove around in, something that looked like it had been through the Holi festival in India
