Yes last Ashley trip I was the only cruiser - this time there were five 70s and three MWBs at that.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.
sorry i missed you guys, sounds like fun. i had to replace a set of hubs and pulled my dead winch apart only to find a stuffed motor. That really gutted me and I wasn't prepared to go into soft rivers with a heavy truck and no winch. Al
Was a good day out. Excellent weather. Its amazing how much the river has changed. Lots of soft stuff to catch the unwary aye Kaney But a good run for the truck none the less. Big ups to Nick even though hes new he took the bull by the horns and organised a day out for us all, which has been lacking lately and i'm as guilty as any. So good on ya

haha yep, I saw it was soft but i was hoping it wasnt deep to sink up to the chassie, and yip thanks nick. Did annyone get any photos from the day. I had an awsome day was good to see a few new guys out there. If the weather stays like the way it is till this weekend, it could be a great weekend to have a look at the lower part of worsleys as a day to have your co driver out of the vechile guiding the driver up.... then hooking on a tow rope when your stuck
then for the ones that are keen to have a look at attempting to go the whole way up.
Yes thanks to Nick for making something long over due happen. And to the Prado team for leading the way - in interesting places!

Yes there must be some lurking around! I saw cameras pop out when trucks got stuck. Only photo I have seen is the inside of the MU diff as posted in the Weekend's achievements section.

hi there just abig thanks to nick, and ash and the team. a great day had by all, my passengers changed there daxs, lol. na they love it for there first time out, think they where off to buy a 4x4. great effort dave on the diff, and you to donkey for showing how to get stuck, eh or eh or.
Running a set of small 35s. I think the fact the jeep is only on standard wheels makes it look worse. Surprised the jeep got water into the motor. Just shows everyone how important it is to make sure you get a snorkle. Nothing 20mins with the toolbox didn't fix though.
yea i have to agree with that, i have done plenty of the local trips without one but the amount of water we have around and how often it changes you would be silly to run for long without one. I built one (for a low budget truck) recently with 3 inch tube and im pretty sure all up including tube, bends, paint, silcone joiner it cost about 60 dollars. So its a good option if you don't want to spend hundreds on a fancy platic one.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!
I think it was more a matter of checking its water tight - the Mitsi Jeep had a snorkel - it was just the amount of time it was in the water that gave it a chance to find a weak spot. Without it it would have been much worse off.

You know, I should just get my act together and get my windscreen sealant out (that I used when I did my screen on my classic car) and glonge it up and see what I can do but it may well be the rubber needs attention.
But it hasn't rained for a while so the problem has gone away

Ahh thanks for the kind thoughts!
You know, I hate it when you are trying to do panel work and find silicon like that fish tank stuff. While redoing my old ute I came across a section that had its rust filled up with sticky rubbery silicon that doesn't respond well to normal stripping and sanding procedures!
But my cruiser doesn't get the finesse and attention the classic did/does but I still can't stand a vehicle coated in undue layers of glonge. I use that sealant that sets pretty firm and can be scraped off when it needs replacing - just to make it easy when I come visit you guys later when the problem still isn't solved!!
