Doddzee, who did you get your adaptor plate from - if it was Marks Adaptors, make sure you get it checked for alignment. Remember how badly out mine was and others in our club

Yip ended up going with the Marks kit from 4wd upgrades, same price as the dellows and i was dealing with a NZ company if i went with the marks. The 304 Bell housing adapter kit is different than yours and i havent heard of any problems im still going to take it down to brian on monday to be sure though.

Time for annother Update, got my adapter kit back yesterday and it was out of alignmet like most of the other marks kits that i know of that have come over to NZ. Now that i have that back i can start fitting the motor, I have just about everything i need except for a HQ Oil Pick up and Dipstick.

The Exo has been put on hold till i get a copy of the new cage requirements and i decide what i am doing next year which will determine whether i will be competing in it or just using it for fun.

Paint is done Red with a black roof. All suspension is finished, i have fitted drop boxes and got the front panhard modified and made adjustable by Howat Industries. I have also got the front shocks in which i have had to lift the top hoops by 40mm to account for the shocks measuring 700mm from bush to bush, They were not a direct bolt in either they have 20mm pins at each end instead if the factory 12mm so i have had to drill the top and bottom mounts out to 30mm to allow the bushes to sit correctly.

the rear 4 point rall bar and tray is on aswell as the tank being relocated and a chequre plate box mounted on the back.

I have changed my bull bar a bit aswell as i wont be having side bars untill i know what i am doing with my cage.

Next thing to do is chuck the motor in then i can re-fit the dash (air intake is coming throught the firewall), do the exhaust etc and it will be running. Here are some pics:

Lookin good. Wish I had the patience and know how to build a rig like that, can't wait to see your flex pics with that A frame.

Those panhards look the part too, think I might have to get in touch with them to see what it'll cost to do.

Cheers,
Dave

Finally after a few late nights this thing is finaly ready to go off and get the motor wired up, so the engine bay is a bit of a birds nest with wires at the moment, everything else is done, i didnt realise how many little bits and peices were yet to be done when i last posted. So hopefully the sparky will beable to start working on it this week or early week because im a dieing to drive it now.

Final modification specs are:
- 5.0l Vt V8 conversion using marks adapters kit
- Custom Heavy Duty Clutch
- VP HSV Headers
- 3" Exhaust
- Cab/Chassis Chop
- 5" suspension lift
- Koni 88 Series Shocks
- 105" Wheelbase with a-frame rear set-up
- Drop Boxes
- Adjustable Panhard
- 37x13.5x15 Mickay Thompson Baja claws
- Howat Industries Beadlocks
- Rear Locker
- tube bar with PTO Winch
- K&N aifr filter
- 4" Air intake through dash
- Hella LED Lights
- Bucket seats are on ther way

Once it is on the road i will look into getting a front locker and reduction gears when money permits.

It has taken just over a year working on it after work and in the weekend when i get a chance, cant wait to get it out on the trails now. Here are some pics

These are the rears i used. For the front i used an 88 series shock 635mm extended and 355 compressed base of pin to base of pin (sorry cant find part number) they have 20mm pins and you need to drill out the top and bottm hole to 30mm for the bushes to sit right. The bushes are 40mm in height so then end up being 700mm extended mount to mount, which was why i had to lift the shock mounts up. You adjust them by compressing and rotating.

I got them from wayne emmerson.

Thakns for the info. Getting the rears, but will hold off on the fronts until I can get the $$$ for the bodylift/cert so I can go for the longer ones.

Do you have to extend the bumpstops for the front shocks?

Have you got your springs yet and measured the length you need? the rears may be a bit long for what you need my top shock mount is higher than the factory position so what fits for me may not fit for you.

To run the 88-1457 rear shocks in the factory mounts, you need to reduce bumpstop clearance by about 40-50mm or they will bottom out.

I'm hoping they will fit, running 725mm extended at the moment with a 3" lift, and I'm looking at custom coils which are around 80mm longer than the current ones

Holy sh#t that sounds nice 8)

How much work was involved in doing the body chop? Looking at getting a rolling body to turn into a ute, but will have to get a panel beater to do the work for me
