Sorry guys way off topic but, Ben - why don't you mount a standard sway away spare tire carrier on the diagonal bar going from rear corner to top of center hoop? Would not help getting a low center of gravity but the swing away for rear entry and still have access to reco box from cab would be handy. Just a thought.

not to sure yet, going to be working thru options tonight and hope to find a semi decent position for it, i think at this stage it will be on its end against the drivers side rear stay over the battery, leaves room for opening the box and access to it... will post pic somewhere of what im thinking later tonight

got the event info map and looks like theres a fair bit of driving involved to get from base in Rotovegas to satday and sunday day and night stages...

what im wondering is will we be going there for day stages and back to base then out there again for night stages then back to base, then back out there again for sunday stages?

gonna be a heap of driving and more fuel burnt than you can shake a stick at

if so i will have to take a few 20ltr cans full of fuel with me each day

Hi Ben ,in the past we have met at the hot rod club for a drivers briefing then straight up to the comp site ,the Fridays night stages are only about 10 mins away and the Sat /Sun stages approx 20_30 mins ,We dont come back from the Sat day stages we stay in the forest have dinner, fix trucks then do the Sat night stage ..Cheers

im guessing we leave trucks at the base camp/hotrod club?friday and satday nights? how secure is it there?

Hi Mate No. Tow wagons / trailers etc are left at the motel /caravan park or wherever your staying the hot rod club is in the middle of a huge pubic area no security whatsoever.We just leave the transporter at the motel were staying at and rock up in the comp truck . were then put into groups and we play follow the leader to the comp sites ..

hi ,in the past there has not been any spectators,its been one of the requirements from the land owners ,the only way to get in to watch has been either as a support crew for one of the teams or to help out and marshal a day .

I've talked to Cam a few times in the past couple of weeks and it sounds like Rotorua will be turning on another good event. I wish I was racing but such is life when you have a business to run!

And Ben if you break Cam, 2 of my support crew are going to be there and so will Jack so they'll be a few guys around to jump in a seat if need be!

7th overall. A DNS and DNF hurt us pretty bad, backed off after that and just cruised.

Was an awsome weekend with great tracks and with great people ,my thanks go out to the track setters who must of spent many weeks ou there in crappy weather sorting out tracks for us to play on and the many marshalls who kept smileing eventhough they must of been freezeing and to the ladies who welomed us with hot food on the Sat night ,we finished up 6th which was good considering we broke a pitman arm and dnfed a stage due to it ,had a few blonde moments (but we wont go there) and spent the weekend following a couple of v8 hi luxes(i need smaller diffs) ,,roll on Manukau...
