Hey I'm having a bit of a struggle finding where to change the T-Case Shift Linkage. I have pulled away the carpet around the drivers floor side and can't find the 4 bolts they talk off. Anyone got a diagram or photos which could assist me to find what I need to take off and replace.

Is it weird that myns on the passenger side not the drivers?? Maybe they mean on American drivers lol. All is good now found it and a 10min job to change. Cheers for all the assistance! Shocks next which should be easier. :D

lol won't go into all the 4wd options very well though, the t-case linkage thing bumps into the bolts of the new t-case shift linkage.

sommat dont sound right there huh?

Cant offer any light im afraid as ive never played with the additional linkage bracket.

Well got it all sussed, I had to adjust one of the links, not sure what it's called but you can adjust the leaver so that all options work. I loosened the bolt and slide it along the leaver a bit meaning you could slide the inside handle right back to get it into 4WD low and when in 2WD the leaver would be right down forward. Guessing you guys will know what I adjusted lol, unsure of the name but was an easy fix.

Suspension lift is also all done, went smoothly except for the front right shock which the nut was spinning the thread so I had to cut right through the nut and thread to pull the shock out. And realized it was a lot easier to get the springs out when both wheels were off and the axle would drop a lot further down.

Before pic up above and now! Am happy with how much it lifted, took it for a bit of a test spin and performed well. Now just need some nice black steel rims and some new 32" or 33" mud tires.

Awesome! Well done. The adjustment was the grub screw on the first link out of the gearshift aye?

Good luck with the rims, theyre like hens teeth to get in 15x8's in white, let alone black. Can get them in for about 170 each before GST. 15x7's in white are easier via BG world wheels, Speedy in wellington, or maybe even Drury tyres (which is where i managed to find one to replace my stolen spare) If you find some Black rims (im especially keen on the Crager soft 8's) let me know.

Hey Rych, have been looking around for some rims as well, as xj mentioned sort of like hens teeth at the moment. I have found some in Aus and just waiting to hear back about shipping. If your interested that are 15x8 Sunraysia in Black at AUS $85 ea. Might be we can do a deal if we buy more and might help with shipping. Let me know if you are interested.

Need a negative offset pal. Those ones linked arent any good.

That was just a sample link :wink: You've been driving a Jeep for far too long :roll:

May more options available in the US, its just the freight will kill the economies of it.

I had a scroll through summits site and the only 15x8 with our stud pattern are two types of blingy silvert things... yeuch..... guys down at 4wdaccessories can get em... but not cheap.

hmm I have had a bit of a look around and maybe be able to source a set through a mates uncle who owns a car parts business and sells almost everything! But I would be keen to join a bulk order if others here are into that.

Well at the end of the first day with the lift the truck started making a pretty bad knocking sound at the front left corner when I went over a bump or made the Jeep jolt with a jumping take off. I checked everything I changed and all was firm. I took it into my local mechanic to give it a bit of a check over and it looks like the trail arm bushes are worn out. You can move the trail arm from side to side slightly. I'm not 100% certain that's what it is, but it seems like that's the only thing which is loose and I'm guessing that would make a pretty large thump.

Only thing is my mechanic could only source new bushes at a price of $450 for just the left bushes!! Wondering if I could get them cheaper, I will have a look around but that seems like heaps for just bushes!

You can probably buy new after market (i.e. beefier) control arms for cheaper than that. Is it the upper or lower control arm in the front that is making noises? A control arm with shot bushing will make interesting thumping noises under load/stress.

JUSTJEEP on trademe has original rubber bushes. Flick a question on one of his auctions. Nolathane bushes are crap I.M.O. May be great on drag cars, flog out like crazy on things that move and stretch. Others may choose to argue.

Theres a place somewhere in auckland called "the mount shop" i think that can make some whizz bang rubber ones

Got a spare set of upper control arms and welded a tube into the centre of them, popped the new bushes in and theyre good as.

Actually... come to think of it.. i think i have some nolathane/prothane ones for lower arms in my garage.

I see, but wouldn't a cheap replacement of the bushes for now to get rid of the horrid thumps be a good idea? Will those ones from Wooder's not last long?

Do you have prothane ones I could buy off ya?

Justjeep has no listings, so I can't contact them at the moment.

the type from wooders that you linked i would prefer over the prothane/nolathane ones.

Ill check to see if the prothane ones i have are still there.

Ill also contact greg tonight to see what hes got.

BTW, those Wooders control arms are for JKs, not TJs. I agree with sticking to rubber bushing. I just got the poly bushing on my motor mounts and replaced them with rubber ones, there is definitely a lot of difference. No more vibrations through everywhere (finally tracked them down).

I have Rubicon Express rear upper control arms from Wooders. I do like the look of these: http://www.rokmen.com/products/suspension_systems/rokmen_control_arms/rokmen_control_arms.html

Keep in mind that on a TJ, front and rear lower control arms the same part number!

How would I get in contact with Greg, I would probably rather buy from NZ rather than have to order overseas if I can help it. What type did he have?
