No where near as aggressive as I had thought they would be.

I thought everyone would be running simex's   or would they have come out if it was more muddy?

nope simex don't seem to work when trialing, the tyre of choice and of great value if you happen to have a new set lying around is the 833 kuhmo, top competitors will crawl over broken glass to get them, after that the jury is still out, wranglers, mudzillas, trepadore and some being used, there has not bee na tyre to replace the 833 yet, and the tyres used are the same wet or dry courses.

cheers

Most trial hazards are on hillsides - with a lot of tight turns (hence the wheel brakes). Radials definitely hold on to the side of a hill better - tyres like simex/ swamper/ silverstone just tend to slide off....

As Pedro says the Kumho 833 justs seems to hang on. Guys have also done well on Wrangler MTR's, Mud Kings, and General Grabbers but the Kumho 833 is the best we have had for the purpose.

However - on bush trips I agree - it's hard to go past the general toughness and aggression of a simex, swamper or silverstone

I noticed nobody seems to run the Hankook mud tyre which is similar to the old Kuhmo - It just doesnt have the centre void...

Some of the A class guys run the old Hankook (RT01 I think) on standard zooks - seems to go OK.

Brian Howat ran the new pattern on his F class BMW V12 landrover :D :D :D :D :D - but he quickly changed to a different tyre. I'm fairly sure that he wasn't getting much traction from them... :(
