I'm more impressed with the bang for your buck value. Still can't beat the injected chevy torque but at more than twice the price? Lexus v8's rock!

I've been impressed with the performance of the V8 Lexus though NJV6.
Some have asked me, "when are you going to pull out the Chevy LS1 in your 40 and replace it with a V8 Lexus?".

Today i thought I'd try and bling it up with some 14 inch alloys. Same rubber. Just different offset rims, so rubber extensions to the guards are being added at the mo.
Yep. That's my pride and joy, 89 Mitsi hatch back 1600 Lancer towing it. Got it for 900hundy. One owner, NZ new. 300,000 genuine ks on the clock and still going strong.

Was driving the buggy near Inlet Road today.

Image

Driving on your own isn't as safe as driving with a co driver.
But wow I'm so impressed at how easy it climbs stuff, like it's not even there. I need lots of hours in it before Sheffield so i go out as much as I can.

Well.
Had a couple of issues sorted at Ricks before the weekend.

First was the starter motor was removed, freshened up and re-installed. But as some would know. Where it is meant the intake manifold had to be removed to get at it. While that was removed. While Nathan was checking all the ports. He noticed this shined up nut resting on top of the intake port valve on cylinder number one.

Image

So it was to big to get past the value, thank god. But was still there none the less. How farking amazing is THAT!!

The new Longfields arrived on Friday avo.

Image

By Friday night, they had been installed. Along with front wheel bearings and swivel kits.

Image

Didn't get a chance to get out in it in the weekend. God knows i need the practice.

How the Fark does a nut that big get in the intake? Did someone set you up (I hope not) or is this just a part the slipped in when no-one was watching? :? I bought a wagon a few years back that had been repo'd. before it could be taken the guy did some mods on the engine which didnt become aparent until 2 months later when it shat itself. Opened it up and he had bogged up (yep the pink stuff - not just build up of gunge) most of the water ways and oil lines, but left just enough for it to run for a while. Clever wanker that one as it must have taken hours to remove covers and bodge them before refitting them. Of course the company I bought it off said it want their problem and didnt help with the remotor costs. Was the last car I bought off them and the last thing I will ever by that has been repo'd.

Don't think I was setup Heath. Buy the look of that nut. It's been in there for sometime. But i will be emailing Trevor Dean the photo.
I think he'll be just as surprised as I was. He might think to himself, "I wondered were that part went".

BUY a LOTTO ticket, cause that is some lucky shite there. Of course some would argue you were unlucky to have it there in the first place. So what damage has it done to the inlet valve?

I might just do that Heath. :D
nah it hasn't done any damage at all funny enough. Though I'm sure the metal missing from the nut would of done something down the bore of cylinder number one. Compression is still good though.
I wonder when I rolled it whether that moved anything that was in there that shouldn't have been. :?

Oh well. :D

Changed the Silverstones to the Simexs. I was surprised how much higher they are.
From the left. Silverstone, Simex, BFG's.
Only just managed to fit the buggy on the trailer with the bigger wheels.

Also had the old muffler cut out and this 3 inch bullet thrown in today.
Hoping it's going to be a crowd pleases once it's out on the track at Sheffield this month.

Spoke to the previous owner yesterday.
He told me the last time the manifold was off was 3 years ago.

It's done pretty well with that nut in the there all that time aye!

It was a spare steering lock. :D
I also had a spare wheel clamp that I put on the trailer and a tow ball lock as well.
I know it ain't going to stop anyone steeling it. If it slows them down it was worth it.
Oh yeah, I also have 24/7 video surveillance to top it off.

Nice bit of picture editing there Turoa. Good eye.

personal opinion here but looks way better with the outter bead lock bits silver rather than all black . makes the tyre look bigger and makes it stand out rather than blend in with the wheel ..but i guess when the truck is out and about it will be all brown anyhow huh

You mean when they look like this?

Image

I got me 40's street legal beadlocks on it while I get the buggy's beadlocks straightened. While they're off I'm gunna get the outer locking rims sandblasted and galvanized. So they should look the same as the street legal ones.
