looking good man. You planning on linking your rear protection tubes up to a bumper or just runnning a bar underneath to the chassis?
There's gotta be some rocks round here SOMEWHERE!

Yeah making a rear tube bar probably to link the side bars to an some fuel tank protection.
Will be bolting the side bars to the body but not attaching them to the cage itself so the whole rear end bar work will be removable.
just got back from the wairarapa/coast trip so will head into work soon an make a start

so general consensus on welded bends? you would use them for front/rear bars but not for the main hoop of the cage? just wondering as I have just built a cage for my suzuki but hate what the bender does to the big pipe when you squeeze it to a 90 degree bend.

if your using mild steel for the cage give it some pre heating where you are goin to bend not red hot but hot enough to not hold

Not sure what lynx is on about with cheese

Nah wouldnt use weld in bends for something structural like hoops on a cage  I only tried them out on the rear bar cos the bender wont bend tight enough to get around the rear quarter panels.
Got some pics up in the last post of the right side bars an chequer plate welded into the rear bar

Time for an update been busy as usual doing all the little things no one gives a 2nd thought or fark about  like rebuilding the front diff/brakes, wiring up the fan an other things. Also got made a start on the front bar work an winch plate, still undecided wether to go with synthetic or wire rope so havent cut a hole for the fairlead.
Pics:
Front end rebuild, new lsd diff head, bearings, seals, etc

Modded the kingpins to accept small grease nipples
Image
Shiny rekitted calipers
Image
Front bar started, winch plate is 4mm thick
Image
Started on the front guards tonight pics are shit cos the light was bad

Finished the basic design of the front tube guards, still hadnt decided how I wanted them to look till I started kinking them up  but they turned out pretty good

Wheels looking good dude.

What length beadlock bolts did you use? And are you running tubes?

I've had a pr!rk of a time trying to do up beadlock rim onto a 40" Bogger - got half way round and gave up :x Thinking about getting some longer bolts as I assume it is because of the sidewall thickness...

Different tyres have different bead thicknesses and swaper beads are fawkin thick. Beadlocks are generally set up for one brand of tyre
