On the matter of pastoral tenure lease reviews and the problem of DOC's management plans removing vehicle access (except service vehicles and DOC) from the lands they take over...the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment is currently reviewing the whole process.

Information can be found at http://www.pce.govt.nz and they are asking about concerns that people have in regard to the process.

This is an opportunity for 4x4 recreation to highlight the concern that workable vehicle routes through the mountains and back-country may be being chopped up.

On the thread called 'Pastoral Tenure Reviews' I have posted information relating to Crown Land Tenure Review.

Also lets not forget this important point:-
There is nothing stopping us asking for permission to cross private land.
That is what we have always been doing and the Tenure Review process does not change that, so in the end having a good working relationship with the landowner is still very important!
Regrettably some people see Tenure Review as an ‘Open access to the High Country’ it was never designed to do that.
We must ALLWAYS respect private land and ask permission and say ‘Thank Youâ€
