Never even ran it hard, I like building...not maintaining, sold it. No front brakes needed, we have no WOF system, you build it, you run it.

Make more time for your stuff now or you will never get it the way you want it, just the way as time allows! Keep true to the way YOU think it should be.

Shit I had one of those old falcons about 25 years ago when I was a young fellar, nothing like your one it was pretty much standard other than having a later engine and syncro box in it, I think it was an XL as well coz it was 1963 or 64 ish? I paid $150 for it and drove it all around the country for a couple of years before I sold it, only thing I ever had to do to it was replace the rusted out drivers side inner guard with one we got from the tip coz the strut had ripped out and was swinging around in the brease and i had to swap the front hubs to 4 stud ones that I got off the wreck at the tip, those falcons were 4 stud except for the utes and panel vans which were 5 stud and my one had 4 stud axles in the rear and the origional 5 stud in the front with some mismatched and filed out jap rims and it was near impossible to find 5 stud rims for it so I converted the lot to 4 stud. The thing never used to lock and any key fitted the ignition but nobody ever thought to steal it

The 20's don't look right anyway - too new / square. BC's Junk yard dog mags or similar would be cool.

Yea HEI are nice and simple, once you have them set up there isn't much that can go wrong with them. They are bloody cheap on trademe but the springs on the advance on those ones most likely won't be best suited to the motor and you might need to swap them to get the advance curve right. Apart from that they seem good and probably end up cheaper than a branded one. They will go fine as they are but will go better with the right springs.

For a good spark from what I have heard you can't go past those MSD units that have the workings mounted separately. I have heard they are have much higher voltage but haven't had any experience with them myself. Though about putting one one the boat as the HEI units don't seem to like the vibrations but haven't got round to it yet. A good strong spark will fix a lot of problems on old motors like that.

Gotta love the old 350s nice and simple to get good power out of them and easy to trouble shoot haha.

oh and that floating is probably your stuffed shocks haha.

na mate brand new shocks all round. it goes exactly where ya point it, what i meant by floating was it just absorbs all the bumps in the road, just so smooth its beautifull to drive. the beauty is its only been in NZ since february so for vinning its got a HEAP of new bits, all new suspension bushes, shocks, all rubber brake lines new, all new rear drums, front brakes all flashed up, new steering bits, wiper motor, new headlights, new seat belts, new tires, new window guides & new exhaust wish sounds awesome.

yea ive seen the hei dizzys on TM but ill go for the MSD hei, ive heard good things bout them and only $99 more and theyre in stock in town. i dont wanna do too much to the engine itself, it makes plenty of power as is and is very good on gas!!
ive got new timing cover gasket and fuel pump gasket coming so thats this weekends job is to remedy the oil seeping out.

Well i have a couple. First is a 1965 Humber Hawk station wagon. one of only two in NZ. This one was modified when my mum bought it a few years ago. It has been lowered about 3 inches, Nissan vented brakes at the front with Nissan brake booster, rear is a 8 3/4" holden diff and axles with solid holden discs and jag calipers.

body wise it has the side trim removed and has 15" momo wheels on it. But it is full of rust and needs shite loads of work done on it. Just starting to find someone willing to take on the challenge, I dont mind if it takes 5 years to fix, I dont have lots of spare money either, so I will look for spares in Aussie as they have way more than NZ.

engine wise it has a 3.0L Capri V6 in it at the moment. Third engine it had before we got it. That I want to replace with a hemi 354 as that was the engine it was designed to have, but Chrysler pulled out just before it was released so it ended up with a 2.0L 4 pot.

Second project is a 1975 Renault 12 station wagon. This just needs to have new fuel lines, tank, etc. then I can just get it going and drivable and slowly do the body on it. It has been de rego'd unfortunately but I have the plates still, so not too bad.

Not sure how many are in NZ but there aren't many. Mod's that have been done before by previous owner were self reclining seat belts in the front, heater vents in the rear, oil pressure and water temp gauges, B and C pillars painted black, thats its really. Planning on having it as a cruiser really. Might add a Renault Fuego turbo motor to it as we have one sitting round up at my old man's. Thats a Fuego, not just the engine. so might use the axles and brakes too.

Other projects? Well...

My Dad's Daimler SP250, with a Majestic Major 4.5 litre v8 replacing the 2.5:

I'm helping him rebuild it slowly. It is only one of 5 known, and 9 in total (including assumed) worldwide.
