Well we've hit 30 entries and I now have 1 on the wait list. Might be able to raise the numbers but I'll have to talk it through with the guys.

Its 4WD
It has a winch.
It has a roll cage.
It seats two people.
It has seat belts.
No different to a home built buggy.
As long as it meets the required safety specifications then you should be allowed to enter, although it would have to be the modified class due to no rego or wof.
They compete with them in the Aussie events.

Not quite ,in Aussie they formed a special class to allow them to compete ,under 4x4 challenges rules the truck must be a MC class and i don't think the polaris would qualify

You are right but they have allowed now MC class vehicles to compete before why suddenly start looking at the rule book. It is usually ignored in the past when it comes to some vehicle specs.

Take a look at some of the vehicles that have competed in modified class over the last 12 months or so. Some of those wouldn't have fitted into the rules as MC class vehicle.

All,
I set the max at 30 competitors never thinking we would ever get that many. Wrong!
I have accepted the first 30 and am trying to find a way to accept the other three entries I have. As we are still over a month away, there may be some attrition which will probably make space for them or the committee may change the max.
So, in additiion to my email to competitors last week we have Alex and Rueben which make 30. Plus Warren, Aaron and Mike on hold.
A group of us went out to the Parsons Rd farm yesterday to sort out the night stage locations. After much debate we seem to have decided on long and sometimes fast open stages combined with one or two of the usual tricky bits. Not much winching but be prepared for it anyway. You might need some good lights though.

Had a committee meeting. Raised the ceiling. You're in! No more.

And now a most important development.
The coffee guy is arranged.
He will be at the Rugby Club on Friday afternoon and with us on Saturday too.

Pegged out 6 stages last Sunday for the friday night. 3 for Manukau Class and 3 for the rest. One stage could be an issue for Manukau Class as we need to repair a culvert to get to it. Time will tell.

Hi Dave,

My truck has welded on horns for the winch rope, will this be Okay in the Manukau Class?

Just need to know if I need to change them or not.

What's the rules for service crews?

Is the main service vehicle allowed to follow the competing vehicle to the stages for servicing and repairs between stages, or are you having a designated service park.

Cheers.

Hi Brett,
4X4 Challenges Rules state:
41.3 Lights, aerials and cable horns may be attached to the bar work, but cable horns must be removable.

Only 3 sleeps to go and then action!
Friday night stages are all set apart from the cattle knocking over the pegs. Culvert has been repaired too.
A good crew turned out last Saturday for final pegging.
Hamish and I spent last Sunday reviewing that. All is good.
Competitor information will be emailed tonight.

Hi Dave,
Unfortunately I am going to have to pull out (modified class) as truck is not going to be ready, thought it would be but after a few hiccups just don't have enough time to sort it. Apologies for the late notice.
So there is possibly a spare spot for someone that is ready to go at short notice.
Cheers
Tim
