I guess singling out lifted 4wd's is seen as a battle the NZTA can win. Have never seen a lifted 4wd on it's side on the Blenheim to ChCh SH, but a hell of a lot of truck and trailer units.

Can someone confirm for me what the current rules are? Is it still OK to do a suspension lift <50mm and not need certification?

Yes as long as you use all the existing mounts & the springs you use are fit for purpose.

An update from Tony Johnson of LVVTA....
Hi there everyone,
Unfortunately I’ve made the decision to pull the pin on the raised vehicle ‘workshop’ that we had scheduled for August-ish this year, and it’s now postponed until mid-2015. This decision was made last week.
I’m frustrated that we’ve had to do this because it’s a big issue for a lot of people, but we really have no choice due to a number of reasons. The primary reason is that we’re currently overwhelmed with additional workloads on our small team by the UDM Skoda Yeti issue (which you might have seen on TV – we’re in the thick of that debacle), along with a number of other high-priority issues.
It would be tempting to just go for it and give it our best shot but we need time to properly prepare for it – if we don’t, then we’re wasting everyone’s time and not making the most of the opportunity.
