For those going on Monday bring some track clearing gear in case the opportunity arises to sink some easy tracks in

Yes its still Aotea (too late to change). If you don't like it stay at home, also looking at other areas, so we can do a bit of track making whilst we are there....

James is organising a Rallywoods trip....

Crikey! Things have gotten a bit crazy since I last read the thread! I am sure that Aotea will be fun, and if you don't think so, then don't come. Free world and all that, you do get the choice. Sounds like a great idea to bash some new tracks. Last time Mark and I were there with Warlord and a few others it was wet and very slippery so we could not do too much. Should be heaps more fun with it a bit drier......mind you i've heard that whales like the wet!?

We are looking forward to it wherever we go, and will be great to catch up with everyone again to have a play and some fun. Should we bring BBQ stuff??

Its more fun in a modified vehicle in the wet, in the dry its more fun for standard vehicles (you dont get stuck as much).

Its fun, nonetheless. Are you gonna steal the nissan off mark and drive through the deep bog?

Yeah I might try and steal the nissan for a thrash. I think my favourite part of going there last time was doing some really cool constant 360 doughies!!! I might have to have a try myself this time.

I think Mark might sometimes be quite amused by my enthusiasm for stupid stuff like that! Our kids are getting to be real 4x4 junkies too! Jake constantly tells Mark "Go fast Dadda!"

Warlord, thought about postponing it, if we have a work/play day and a few more then we can have some really nice play hazards....

Right... so my take on things is:

- We are going to Aotea
- We are going to meet there at the same time as the original RR plan: 9:30am
- We are going to have a play and then spend some time scoping out some extra hills/gullies/bogs to create some new tracks/obstacles
- We are not arranging a joint BBQ lunch... BYO
- We do not currently have a key, but it is possible to drive over the mound of dirt near the gate if we have the correct permission
- If we don't have the correct permission then the owner is likely to call the police (taken from a previous trip thread)
- As a fallback position, if we cannot get the necessary permission for Aotea, we will head out to Odlins Rd

Things to clarify:
- Do we have the appropriate permission, assuming that warlord is not going to be there?
- Who is actually coming?
- Does anyone have any markers that we could use to set up our own tracks/hazards and have our own mini competition (not official, no actual scoring, no strict rules - just see if you can get around without touching the markers)? This may make the day a bit more interesting.

Yes, we will be there.

No, we don't have any appropriate markers that we could use for marking a track.

be warned, i was once told by henry how to get in without a key and told we (mates and i) could come in when ever we wanted. the next time we went in, a 4wd came flying up to us and told us to get out and threatened to push us off the side of the track (we were up quite high in the hills) if we were caught up there again. then henry turned up and swore black and blue that he had never meet us. it was only a week later!!!! the guy in the 4wd went off his nut so we left without making a fuss but it pissed me off no end. so i recomend any agreement you have with henry you get in writing.
