Just incase you are unsure of how to get to this training day, here is a map. Red lines are from SHW1 at Amberley.

Are we going to do the convoy thing from say the Belfast Pub at 8:30ish

You won't need to leave that early, it only takes forty minutes from Belfast. You organise your convoy PR as some of us will be out there earlier.

Looks like it will be a great day, just two houses along from some folk I know. Would be there if it was a sunday, with or without a truck, might have two this sunday, or none depends on if the old one goes or the new one comes first

Sorry guys, I was hoping to get out there for a great day but the new truck won't be ready till next week. Just bought my old Simexes back from MrOffroader and they are arriving after the weekend (Doh),. Would be far too embarrissing to turn up out there with no liftkit and 29inch road tyres.

but its not all about who has the biggest lift and the most narly tires  Its about proper techniques in failed hill climbs, correct wheel placement, correct procedures for making recoveries safe, awareness of differing 4wd systems etc. If you know all this then perhaps you can help out and share the love  Hell I drove all the west coast tracks and otago tracks on 29" AT's and it made it more of a challenge :D

And you have Al trying to teach these things???????
Has anyone actually seen his driving :?:
He is very good at recovery techniques tho' (having been recovered himself more than most  )

Have a good time all,and learn something new for those who are new to 4wding, and go out and implement it.
Remember, if you don't get stuck, or at least close too, you have not got anywhere near your limit of capability, So push the envelope, you will bw surprised how far your near standard trucks will go

I am still having problems trying to find the time to fit my tow hooks. Is it still possible to attend the training day without rated hooks? I realise that rules out the bog holes etc, but it shouldn't interfere with wheel placement technique, safety equip training, observing etc should it. What do you think Al?

Yes do come along, as this is what it is all about.
