Nah that's pretty much everything I had covered, I had also noticed the problem with the steering arm as well. Good to see that my 12pm drunken hypothesis turned out to be correct  My front springs are flat, you reckon that's all good?

Already on top of the width as well, ideally would like 15x10 rims and 35x12.5 but need a better motor then the 2L-T to spin them :D

Do you know how much lift it actually gave you? Somewhere around the 4-5" mark from what I've calculated, liking the artic pic you have too, very nice.

So does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do here? Once i have my steering sorted, its cert time. I think that if i could get a steering arm that was factory bent, it would do the trick, however that may be difficult.

Looks like you are going to need some custom steering arms, a bit like the ones Jafa makes for Hilux's. Have a look here to see what I mean.

haha, drunken hypothesis...My front springs are toyota Old man emu springs, with a 2" lift in them. They sit flat on my truck. I used them cause they are alot softer than my factory 2leaf parabolic springs and therefore, can flex much better. Also they have more leaves (5 i think) giving the truck more height with the spring being over the diff. Do you have the 2leaf paraboic springs in your truck?

Yeah 35's will wind up the gearing on the diffs way to much. Mine are factory Daihatsu diffs (shoud be the same as yours..are they?) and they have a ratio of 3.36 i believe. An ideal mod would be to put hilux diffs under it, as the ratios are much lower, allowing you to spin the bigger tyres, while still keeping your speed down. I have 31"s and wouldnt go any bigger with the factory diffs. My engine is the 2.8td Daihatsu, and would do 33's easily if i had the toyota diffs. You could almost do this mod, being an engineer, as you may have to make custom driveshafts to make the hilux diff match up to the existing factory driveshafts.

For lift, i think it gave me atleast 140mm. But the height isnt like overkill, its just nice. Im not entirerly sure on the exact height measurement however.

Thanks for that. It is what we are going to look at next, and hopefully it will solve our problem

Cheers. :D

Yup, front springs are the 2 leaf. Do you have any dimensions of the springs? Are they the same as hilux by any chance?

I am interested in swapping toyotas diffs in and to make it easier slap a hilux gearbox and transfer in there as well (will mate up to the toyota engine) but that gets a bit pricey and a lot more work involved.

3.36 does sound about right after using an online calculator puts my truck at about 110km/h @ 3000rpm.

Spring over with 35's would be fun and I might just end up doing it for a laugh, can easily swap in a 2.8 toyota donk in anyway when I get frustrated at the lack of oomph.

Anyway enough overtaking of your thread, keep up the good work.

Any comments are appreciated here mate. My front springs are for a hilux, and fitted straight in. Can get the dimentions if you want, but they are quite similar, just different in the bushes. Go for the hilux springs.

Go for it with the toyota diffs, and 35's. It would be great all rite.

Keep me posted with what you are going to do..Oh, where are you in NZ?
