Good idea Jerry, your best yet, I dont have a paintball gun, can I use my Ruger carbine? It's about the same caliber as a paintball, .44 rem Mag. should be ok, you think? I dont mind being limited to a magazine capacity of 5 rounds. Dont actually see it as a handicap.

Tsk, not reading all the relevant posts again. I quote Jerry
jerry wrote:Jase.... if mike is doing the NZQA thingy then day 1 will be a classroom training so you will need to find somewhere eg a skoolroom or has someone got a suitable meeting room near there?, Mike will want a projector thingy as well.
Here are some suggestions to help you organise this
Organise the classroom for daytime on eg Sat and then go to eg Petes place for the pratical part in the afternoon (need a hillclimb, descent, sideling and water crossing if possible from memory.....maybe PM mike and see what his requirements are) and stay there in the evening and go playing in the mud on Sunday.
Need to look at meeting points for everyone as well and what people need ie towhooks, recovery gear etc, what facilities are there eg loo running water etc and what will people need to bring? What trip rules do you want to have on the trip .... 2 i usually stipulate are no drinking and driving and proper rated hooks if people are playing in the mud/harder bits. what are the trip fees as well. Ask Mike how he will be travelling up (if he is coming up) and what transport he needs.
Having done this course its well worth it.....and its subsidised as well ....all you normally have to pay is the NZQA registration fee if you haven't already registered and of course the mike beer tax (speights) and anything else he will want Laughing
Good on ya for pulling finger and organising this...see its easy....I think you will be expected to organise another trip after this Laughing
And seeing as how Waiariki is nicely located on the edge of town with plenty of parking I figured it would be a good place to do this and they do hire out rooms and I have a projector because I'm an ICT teacher. simple

if there is not more than about 15 to 20 people you can use the smoko room at work, at no charge. We also have truck wash facilities/ workshop for running repairs??

Once you guys agree on a date, ill talk to the guys who do the nzqa side of things so I can arrange to run the course. Once dates are set, then we just need a room for 4 hours or so and then some 4wd areas / destination etc.

Spoke to the training orgainisation and it needs to be run in the BOP region ie rotorua or somewhere as the polytechnics who dish out the certificates squabble with each other when they impose on each others territory. Waikato and taranaki is out for a place to hold it.
Was thinking if you guys want the nzqa certificate part then what do think about the weekend of the 8,9th of march?

I'm easy either way, but I daresay it'll be up to Pete and when space is available.

OK this is a go again, bugger the thirtieth, I'm going to be in Onewhero.

Talked to Pete, he charges $40 per wagon per day Pretty flexible right now if we go for any weekend in April. At this stage I've pencilled in the 6th and the 13th for confirmation, assuming we only need Pete's for the one day of Practical and have classroom stuff on the Saturday. If this is too expensive or we need two days I may have to negotiate with Pete or we may need to look at Ngaroma or something similar
Mike, how does this look for you and what's everyone else's thoughts
