Woops, I have the times all wrong   We are supposed to be at Costaplenty not before 9.00am, so allowing 35mins from Woodville to Costaplenty,(for those of us towing) how about we meet at the servo in Woodville between 8-8:15 with the intention to be on the road at 8:20 or so?. Moonhopper does this work for you and your mate with Suzuki?, how about you DBW?, does this time suit you?. Badnuz?? Lets get ourselves organised  cant wait to get out there!

Update is as follows; all you Palmy guys apparently are meeting at the Caltex in Woodville at 8.00 - 8.15 AM, then proceeding on out to the corner of Millers Rd/Pahiatua-Pongaroa Rd where myself & Moonhopper will meet up with you's. Any Wgtn guys coming up the Kapiti Coast side would be advised to arrange to meet up with the Palmy guys at the above time & place.

Any Wgtn people coming over the big hill & up through the Wairarapa that aren't sure how to get out to Costa Plenty, then if you's are at the corner of State 2 & Pongaroa Rd (between Pahiatua & Mangatainoka) at around 8.15 AM, then the Palmy guys will pick you's up on their way through.

Last fuel stop will be Pahiatua or Woodville, depending from which way you are coming. No shops from Pahiatua/Woodville on, so be advised to bring your lunches and your $20.00 Park fee.

I will be doing a lot of videoing of the day, so anyone wanting copies at a later date when I have edited and burned copies off can contact me later.

Normal radio protocol to be observed (channel 10 on both cb & prs).

Recovery hooks/points front and rear are required as standard, (as I'm taking a wild guess that there will be more than just a little recovery going on throughout the day). 8)

Lets all have a good, safe and verrryyyy mudddddyyyy day! :D

i have managed to get a hold of a set of the new maxtrax for us to try this weekend, they have tested very well in the sand, and im curious to see how they fare in mud... some areas will be obvious no point but i,ve seen many a stuck vechile at ashurst ( mostly me lol) and would think they would be good in those situations, so i will have them in the back and would be keen for some people to try them b4 winching/snatching :) its still raining hard round here, so mite I also add to Ryans list some extra warm clothes etc ( i know its prob a obvious thing lol) and a towel or 3...

Forgot to mention yesterday, that I do have a number of PRS handheld radio's if anyone doesn't have one in their vehicle and would like to borrow one for the day.

You will need to PM me by tonight if you require one, so I can put them on the charger overnight.

Well Tony (Moonhopper) & his mate arrived a couple of hours or so ago in a large camper truck with the Rangie on a trailer behind. We have all had a top feed by the BBQ, and are all sitting back in the lounge in front of the fire drinking shit loads of piss and watching 4 wheel drive videos of Rallywoods, Costa Plenty, Odlins side tracks and the 42 Traverse.

was a total blast, you welly boys better not hide under your blankies next time we go in there, it was rather wet to start the day so we stuck to the easier ""access" type tracks which in themsleves were somtimes testing!!after a regroup in the bottom play area where everyone tried a bog or 5 we stoped for luch at the hut, where a few repairs were undertaken and tires were re-seated onto rims.. we headed off again, but the toll was starting to show on some trucks, so we dwindled down to just a handfull. to end the day Wizard2, DBWracing and myself quickly did a reverse run of the mornings track. damage to the cruiser was limited to a big stove in the passengers door, realigning my rear bar ( sorry moonhopper) some dodgy lights.... oh and a suspect 2nd gear in the box.. I have a few pics to upload maybe tomorow :)

FANTASTIC!!!

Can't believe the Welly crew didn't come up, Costa plenty rocks
Awesome time had by all (well, except for Tony's Rangie but he had fun when it was going!) although, don't believe haynzy when he says take the left hole, won't be a problem with no snorkel
I couldn't afford to replace my new engine when it inhaled a lung full of water so I backed out before it did

Mud bogs were awesome, access tracks were funky

and, we got a new 4x4 convert in Moonhoppers dad, who had a ball backing his son's zuk into trees and driving the tiny wheels of the wee thing.

Cheers Ryan for organising it and showing us around

Cheers to all the crew that turned up (we wont talk about the PINK blankie and PINK beanie bunch of Welly girls!!!) 8). Hope you all enjoyed the day. Somewhere different for most of you, and all good fun. Moonhopper had some never ending fuel problems with his Rangie, so didn't enjoy the day as much as he could have. However, his brother and father had an absolute ball in the little Zuk, and I think we will be see-ing more of them. Jafa's Zuk never let us down in it's never ending smoke screen  and everyone else just had heaps of fun in the mud. Moonhopper and his mate rocked up here at my place in a large camper truck with the Rangie on a trailer behind. We had a good night here watching dvds and eating & drinking (what else),

I do have a couple of photos to post when I get time, but mainly took video footage (1 hour 15 mins), which I will burn off some copies for those that were there. Was rather dissapointed that not a single Welly person turned up shame on you all!!! :( :( :(   Maybe next time up there, but wont hold my breath. 8)
