Anyone got a turbo flange for sale? Sick of waiting for Pitstop to "find/make" one. Need to get this done soon.

Buy a gasket and use it as a template to make one.
Most engineering / welders have plasma cutters and can rough one out and then get stuck in with a file.

Were my thoughts too. Still having issues with steering (maybe) so will have to wait for a while I think. Priorities... :?

Just to let people know that might still be interested in the 1kz-te dump pipe. I have borrowed kbushnz kzj78 factory dump pipe (thanks once again) and took it down to the local muffle shop and they going to make one up from scratch for $150. I have instructed them to make the first bend from the flange out of 2.5" steam pipe. Should be all done by early next week and hopefully i will post the photo here.

I think youll find that 1KZTE dump pipes arent the same ... Prado ones are diff to Surf ones....something to do with the location if the chassis rail

Wouldnt mind one for my wagon but the design is wrong (IFS prado) so I'll just have to wait a bit longer before finishing my system off.

Big difference.
The Beam Axle Prado (like mine) The dump pipe exits over the chassis rail.
The IFS version goes back and down and exits under the truck next to the front drive shaft.
The IFS version would be soooooo easy to make. Compared to the Beam version.

Right guys. Finally got the dump pipe installed into the truck. Ended up having the truck at the muffler shop so the guys can make sure everything fits while they made the new dump pipe.

heres some pictures
http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww337/ginzu8/031.jpg

http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww337/ginzu8/032.jpg
old vs new

I was there the whole time the dump pipe was being made and installed and i now almost know why Kbushnz isnt keen on making another one.

Lastly, the quote that i told everyone about in the previous post as $150, thats for the dump pipe itself, and because the muffler shop made the whole dump pipe plus new piping to go to the flexi it would cost $350 total to be made up. dont know if people would still be interested or not..

In terms of any notice in performance or what.. I must say i honestly cant tell much differences other than the fact that i can notice more when the turbo spoons up. I think I will notice more when i get around doing the whole system as well as i prefer to do things one bit at a time to see which and what i have spend makes the most performance gain..

:D

You need to resize the photo with a photo editor on your pc....
Then post the new file / photo.
I have tried using the editor on photo bucket and the forum site wont recognize it as being trimmed.

Have you done the rest of your system?
As when I did mine I went straight to a 3 inch muff and very short pipe....
Made a big difference... spooled up nice and quick. Power off the mark....Didn't bog down any more.

Give it the welly off road and she just spins up the tyres... Before that it would be all noise and no spin...

Pipe looks good.....

No i havent done the rest of the system yet as its going to cost $900 from the fleix back for a 2.5" mandrel system..

So far i only notice the turbo noise more than anything and i dont know if it has anything to do with the dump pipe but it seems my water temp is slighlty higher at 100kph before it was sitting at 82 degrees at 100kph but now it sits at around 84 degrees.. could be me being paranoid..

Calvin I will return ur dump pipe after my training in 2 weeks time if its okay.. .

Did a whole 2.5" mandrel exhaust today with a free flow muffler. man what a big difference both in noise and much smoother acceleration.. I cant wait to play in the mud now.. i guess economy would go down in the first week since i cant help myself with the right foot..

Drove from palmy to Hamilton today . First time on the open road with the new exhaust system.. All i can say is there is a big differences in power and the ability to maintain the power and speed up a long hill climb.. when i step on it to pass cars its actually smoother.. economy is definitely better as i got to HN with half a tank of gas and trip meter reads 37Xkms. also I notice the water temp is sitting at 76 degrees on a flat and would climb to no higher than 89-90 degrees C on a long hill climb. Best mod so far for the truck..

I thought about it, but getting the exhaust past the transfer case without it getting too low was an issue.
And also keeping it away from brake lines etc etc.
Get a piece of pipe and see how you would route it...

just thought id update this thread , ive just finished a full 3 inch straight through no muffler exhaust, a little on the loud side but definately putting a muffler in soon, i have made it all out of 1.6mm pipe, 80 percent of it is in stainless except dump pipe as i didnt want to risk cracking with the flange, 1.6mm wall will hold up to the heat just to let people know, i know this because i have built 15 + rotary exhaust systems, a most of them have been 500+hp and never failed on me.

if your wanting to build you own exhaust you'll need approx 5x 90 degree bend , 1x 180 degree bend, all with approx 300mm leg lengths, if running one decent sized muffler you shouldnt need any straight tubing
(these materials were for an exhuast from dump pipe to tipa, exhaust down the side of gearbox/chassis rail and dipping down beside torsion bar adjusting bolt then heading under rear driveshaft , this allowed none of the exhuast to hang below a crossmemeber or interfere with driveshaft movements)

I have some turbo flanges for sale.

25 bucks each plus postage. They need a little dressing up (holes need tidy up with dremel or file).

12mm and 10mm.

PM if interested.

Dropped in to See Rick at 4wd acc on friday and he is going to source a std cast dump for me, make a template and then make a new larger diametre on for my IFS 96 prado (goes between the chassis rails).

Not sure of cost yet but I gave Rick the remainder of my flanges so he can do with them what he wants.

This will be the last bit of mod for my wagon. Well other than the boost gauge and inline boost controller (which I have but havent fitted yet  ), oh yeah and fitting the probe for my EGT into the exhaust manifold before the turbo where I wanted it right back when I did my new exhaust.
