Very nice work, wish I had your skills. If this is going on the road you might not be able to get away with the snorkel not being attached though. got failed by a warrant guy on a previous truck with home-made snorkel

Petemcc wrote:Looking wicked! I take it you are using the standard trans from behind the 304? If so have you figured out any way to manually control the shifting? I have one in my vp and am keen to try set it up so i can lock it in 2nd and not have it change into first when towing round windy bits and up hills etc.

Cheers,
Pete

I may have something to sort that in my screeds of info sheets :P
I seem to recall reading something about how to lock up the Torque converter on a th700. I 'll see if I can find it again, because it will useful for me as well  :P

Snorkel is attached, it just isn't attached to the A pillar, I can't see how that is a dangerous fitting, but I am not a WOF dude either. There is also an exo cage to go outside of the snorkel tube as well, which is why it is inboard a fair bit.

That was from when the ore Woman's weekly first came to a head.

The guys on this forum were more prepared to see shit loads of off topic garbage as opposed to decent tech treads and discussion where we could all gain a bit more knowledge on the building/maintaining or customising of 4wds. So I deleted all the pics.

I still have them all and if this forum ever looks like getting it's shit back together I will reinstate them. But at the moment there is more support for those who just want to keep posting crap.

yep even though the "other" nz forum has tech, definete off seas are betterer. Yes there is the off topic for ore, but when most people hit "new posts" its spammed with shit, how much the shit cost me, this seems to pricey shit but Ill buy it anyway, and how do I fit this shit to my shit that may already have shit installed"

Any time I've asked a tech question in the tech forum I get #### all answers yet plenty of page views... It's not as if people aren't willing to post tech, they're upset because other people using the forums correctly...

Maybe instead of posting less you should post more, by posting less you're contributing to the 'lack of tech' ???

Call be stupid but that's how I see it, people are quick to complain about 'THE SHIT THREADS' yet aren't quick to contribute anything technical.

Probably because some of us have been on here a long time and have seen it go down hill in a big way.
Most people need to try the search (which I know is a bit of arse on ORE) because there only seemed to be a handful of guys answering the tech questions, and they quite often ended up being the same questions doing another round. And quite frankly the guys who spend their time building, and taking pics and doing write ups on here just so it can be buried in a pile of off topic BS just can't be bothered anymore

It is after all a 4wd forum, not a "my wife has pmt again" forum

Or take a look at skid's thread asking about how he could make his electric windows on his 80 work better.

The first few post's were mint, then it started into a "this one time at band camp, it would only go up slowly", "and then this other time, it went up ok, but got stuck", and" I had to lube the channel so it would go up smoothly and today I went to the shop and brought some Banana's, I like Banana's, they are yum. Sometimes I throw Banana peel out of the window when I'm driving. If I was Driving a Nissan you wouldn't have sticky windows.

So when some one ask's a tech question these days, all the guy's with a clue sit back and watch and see what sorta dum shits gonna get posted.

Bit like the highly modified Terrano on 30X9.5 MTR's ya know
